I work in sainsburys and the amount of food wasted daily is unbelievable. I'd say about 100 items a day go to waste just in the bakery that includes loaves of bread, pastries, pies etc. One thing consumers can do to help is to buy earlier dates rather than the longer ones but i'm not sure how much that would actually reduce the waste. It's crazy.

Got so excited to see this video! I live in Scotland and I work 8-5 and 5-12 shifts every day and I still have only £10 in my bank. I can't afford to pay my rent and have been living off one bag of oats which I add water to and make oatmeal with... I'm just glad other people are in the same boat as me and that there's lots of places that offer free food. Unfortunately where I stay there's really nothing like this but I do enjoy these videos anyways and it inspires me to keep going.

I worked at a supermarket in Canada and our boss was caught giving away free and discounted food and almost went to prison and fired. They prefer to throw it away because '' PeOpLe CoULd GeT SiCk AnD AttAcK Us In JusTiCe '' Mindblowing.
