This is just a theory... But I do think we might have overlooked the fact that penacony's stellaron is still here somewhere, waiting to be discovered.

Misha is 100% the character we should all be keeping our eyes on. His design SCREAMS that he either IS the watchmaker, or is heavily related to them (he potentially is the unknown character “Mikhail of which “Misha” is a nickname for “Mikhail”)The keyhole iris, the clock related technique and trace names, the fact that no one ever directly acknowledges him other than the MC, the fact that someone looking exactly like him shows up in flashes of memories when we first enter the shared dream with Acheron, etc.

He’s definitely insanely integral to whatever is going on

Speaking of his abilities, his technique is pretty much a quote from Goethe's Faust... and where there's a Faust, there's gotta be a Faustian Bargain.

Is it just me or is penacony giving some alice through the looking glass story/theme. Misha is the white rabbit and the monster/meme is the jabberwocky

When getting the sticker "Grandpa's work", there was a dialogue that shows (probably) Misha thinking about a tasked left by (what I'd assume) his Grandpa:

"Why..why has it come to this?
Calm down. It's just me left now. I have to complete the instructions he left behind. But how do I do it... How do I possibly complete it?
*Sigh* Is there no one who can help me?"

I think Misha was either talking about guarding the box (which probably failed bc Mikhail opened it, that's why Death escaped from it); or it's about the clockwork problem in Penacony where the emotions of the people are missing. Hence, he somehow conjured Clockie, a famous cartoon character to help him fix everything. I only thought about the latter because of the emotions being pictured as gears of a clock, and Misha's interview posted on HSR official account says he collects clocks and also fixed his Grandpa's pocket watch.

Another theory of mine is that Mikhail is an alter made by the Stellaron. The above quote from the game shows that Misha is alone with no companions. If his task is related to the Stellaron, it could've been his wish to have a companion that conjured Mikhail (or even the Clockie and the others)
They are manifested as the "Will of the Stellaron" that's why MC is the only one who can communicate with them (also applies to Clockie and the other's). If stellarons can manifest the will and wish of people (like the Supreme guardians' twistes wish), they could be continuing the a certain wish to "maintain" the hotel or the whole Penacony. If it the other way around and Misha is just a figment of Mikhail (if Mikhail is the true one), Misha could be just doing what Mikhail was supposed to do, just a copy of Mikhail like the side quest where the actor (Lesley Dean was it?) was recreated by his fan's wills.

that empty hallway in 4:56 is accessible after the ending of part 1 Penacony main story. spoiler: there's only treasures and origami birds there. but I do think Misha is somehow connected to stellaron and I don't think his grandpa is his biological grandpa

My theory is that Misha is the grandson of The Watchmaker. And that Misha is Mikhael or Mikhael was his brother. Clockie runs up to Trailblazer and says that Misha is in grave danger. With the references of someone having the resolve to face death head on, I believe Misha is afflicted with something expected to be fatal. I think it might be entropy syndrome that Firefly mentioned. I believe that he was “disappearing” as happens with that syndrome, and it was his mother calling out for him. Not sure what happened to her afterwards. The Watchmaker then became desperate to save Misha and took the Dreamscape to a whole new level to preserve Misha and slow time to keep him from meeting his end. Perhaps he did use a stellaron to help him in his impossible task. But then obviously things started to go very very wrong…

The name “Acheron” refers to an ancient Greek god who was the master of the barrier between the overworked and the underworld. It was Acheron’s duty to keep the two world separate and to guard both from each other. It was also Acheron’s duty to ferry the dead to their proper destination. The barrier between the living world and the underworld was thought to be something like a river or any type of body of water.

I believe Acheron is true to her namesake and that she is the guardian and resident overlord of the in-between. SHE EVEN TOLD TRAILBLAZER THAT THEY HAD STUMBLED INTO THE IN-BETWEEN IN THE FIRST CUTSCENE after warping to Penacony!

So what is “the truth” of the Dreamscape? Why, it’s a gateway to The Underworld, of course! Or whatever version of The Underworld this Universe has.

If you choose to abandon the mission and not talk to Aventurine, you find out everyone in Penacony becomes trapped in The Dreamscape for eternity.

The Dreamscape is not just a dream.
It’s real and it’s dangerous and if humanity messes with it enough to risk opening the barrier between two worlds that should never meet, Acheron would be duty-bound to seal off their access back to their world to protect it.

Another note: I don’t think time flows normally in The Dreamscape. They could be in a loop for sure and trying to find their way out. Acheron seems to want to help but I think she’s duty bound to protect the entire universe over just the people of Penacony, so someone has to fix the potential universe-ending disaster before they will all be able to leave.

Oh, and it reminds me an awful lot of the Quantum Sea from HI3.

Good Ideas! I think Misha has been build by the Watchmaker using the stellaron (Xype was there to make it possible) or Misha IS the watchmaker transformed by the stellaron and/or Xype. Or the Watchmaker struck a deal with the stellaron like Cocolia and Misha IS the stellaron...dumdidum..yes everything is possible in Dreams ^^

You know. The day that Penacony came out, while I was exploring around the golden hour and before I’d even gone to see Dr. Edward to get the Akivili memory bubble I jokingly said to my discord server: “What if Misha is actually the Watchmaker /j” because one of the watchmaker relic pieces reminded me of the pocket watch on Misha’s model.
When I got to the Child’s Dream area and realized he might actually (and it’s very quickly becoming a _definitely is_ ) related to the Watchmaker in some way I freaked tf out! Now two of my discord friends and I are working together to solve the mystery that is Misha lmao

I actually dont think that Misha is invisible to others. Acheron might not have acknowledged his presense but that could be a red herring. One thing about Misha is definitively different from the other dream scape characters, and that is that he appears in "reality"...Or atleast what we thought was reality. Which could actually be another dreamscape, but lets continue to consider it as the real reality untill we have proof it isnt.
At this point, we have no proof that dream beings can move between dream and reality...we know only that they have technology to make items transfer from dream into reality, and that can probably only be done under supervision from employees.
There is a clue you completely missed though. Misha can visit the express. And guess what he say? That he is waiting for his Grandfather to return, once he is back, Misha hopes to go on a journey through the stars.
So I wouldnt be surprised if the Grandfather is the one named Mikhail. People do name kids after their parents and grandparents so it would make sense that Mishas name came from Mikhail too. I wouldnt be surprised if the grandfather is the Watchmaker either...or perhaps a descendant holding that title currently. Sure it sound odd if Misha used his grandfathers name, but kids sometimes do that, I did. It could be that the space just use Mishas voice as a standin because it cant replicate the real voice. Dreams are dreams after all, and dreams are often jumbled up and illogical.

Misha was in the real world at the beginning of the World when we show up being the bellhop of the Motel. As for we only being able to see Clockie besides Misha is... We are the next Clockmaker and will be a main part on how we finish the arc with a new power up.

I my self have no current story theory because it has not bases to go off but it is always fun to see your.

Edit: I believe that firefly is not dead because her death in the dreamscape and Robin's death was totally different. I mean why did Robin not turn into blue goo when she was stabbed by the meme( I believe that the meme killed her because as far as the story has emphasized, people are pretty safe in dream from harm). That also means that the meme is being controlled to go after specific target. Buy why Robin? It would make sense to kill firefly in case she wants to hide the fact she is the stelleron hunter. Could it be the watchmaker

My crack theory is that Mikhail is the Watchmaker and that Mikhail’s consciousness is sealed within Misha. Mikhail (Misha’s grandfather) was injured somehow perhaps by the meme when it was released from the box and he sealed himself inside Misha.

Misha’s pupils are shaped like a keyhole and eyes are said to be windows to the soul, I believe this means that “something” is locked away within him and perhaps fixing what his grandfather left to him is the way to free him.

Misha is the Watchmaker’s legacy because not only was he taught by the Watchmaker himself but also because he contains his consciousness or soul inside him making him a vessel of sorts.

Evidence to support this would be the existence of Heliobi and Memory Bubbles. If you do the side quest on Penacony about Chadwick you see how a Memory Bubble can preserve someone’s consciousness and what do we see a ton of in the true Dreamscape? Memory bubbles.

LEAK WARNING!!!!

Before the 2.0 patch was released I looked up leaks about the upcoming characters and one interesting thing I saw was a leak with Misha however his eyes weren’t purple with a keyhole pupil, they were yellow and Misha was making an expression that is very different from the ones we see him make.

We see Misha with a pure smile, he’s frantic, earnest, and happy to be of help however… the expression Misha with golden eyes had looked mischievous and cocky, quite a difference to the Misha we know which led me to believe the whole sealed soul thing.

Anyways that’s all I have for know and I know it isn’t reliable which is why it’s a crack theory, let me know what you guys think if you made it this far.

About the person calling out for Mikhail in A Child's Dream: In the version I played in, that person referred to Mikhail with a pronoun that's often used for male elders and referred to himself with a pronoun that's used when a child is talking to an adult. So the way he talked to Mikhail sounded like a grandson talking to his grandpa or a child talking to someone old enough to be his grandpa. I also heard that in some versions, that person straight up called out "Grandpa Mikhail" but since I don't play in those versions, I can't really confirm anything and I don't know what the original Chinese version said

4:56 I think this is one of those weird card portal staircase rooms in a side-quest. I'm too lazy to get on Star Rail again to check right now though...

Connecting what's happening in Penacony to a Stellaron makes so much sense. Even if Misha and the origami birds were dreamscape apparitions, the Trailblazer can see them in the very reception area of The Reverie, so it's definitely more than just dreams and childlike innocence.

By the way, I totally believe that by getting max level for Clockie's statue we will summon the true villain haha.

(Also without any concrete evidence) My theory is that the "Watchmaker" is Misha's grandfather, this person named Mikhail. The Watchmaker legacy is literally his descendants, AKA Misha, and his keyhole eyes are a metaphor that 'there's something locked inside'.
