This is a remake. The original came out in 1981. That being stated this does look interesting

This is a remake of the 1981 film "The Amateur" with John Savage and Christopher Plummer. However, with the advent of computer technology, surveillance equipment and other items that could never have been imagined back in 1981, they really upped the action and depth as to how the hero can avenge his wife's death. The first movie was okay. This one looks a lot better! I'm really looking forward to this one.

This feels like the prequel to Law Abiding Citizen (The Rise of Clive?) mixed with Saw and Taken. Sometimes the whole IS greater than the sum of its parts!
