I wonder if theyll ever fix it to make it feel more connective. I feel as of right now the melee is very clunky and most of the time i kill somone its cause the tried dodging and i hit the air particles they left behind

It’s actually more like a hallow cone, if you go in the sandbox and get right to the edge of where you can no longer reach when punching, if you look slightly up, down, or either side, you’ll hit the punch. So it doesn’t go as far in the center where you’re crosshairs point

Update: it appears this has changed. I haven’t tested the new melee pattern but it doesn’t work the same way it used to

Man, I am sure glad all Valve games have nice melee... and don't fuck up when you least expect it. Like being blocked by teamates, or lag, or the cosmos deciding you didn't hit that Spy.... but that Spy.... oh yeah... he hit you...

deadlock punches feel more like hitboxes than attack cones since all enemies in front of my character are damaged at once

I thought he was gonna say there's a way to chain 3 light punches.

The melee is busted af. I swear the enemy is 5 meters away from me and they still hit that bloody melee, don't even think of blocking cause it's so far away. Don't really like that atm

Seems like there's a lock on mechanic especially with the heavy melee that isn't canceled by dodges

I just found this out when I killed a Lash by meleeing him from around the corner of a pillar. I was genuinely surprised it hit him because I couldn't see him at all.

You can see a weird effect of this if you bind Melee to Mousewheel UP, the input is too fast so you just see a little wisp in front of you

It also needs a few angle in Y axis like 10° up and down?

Because i can for sure count more the times i missed a heavy punch for a few stairs/ramp when trying to punch.

Melee is way too op in this game imo.Unskilled people can get away with using it way too much
