I’m a truck driver I’ve delivered refrigerated/frozen food to family dollar stores all I’ll say is there were times my air stopped working on the trailer and food unthawed and the stores still took the load and put everything on the shelves. After working for that account almost a yr I’ll never buy or suggest people buy fresh produce or anything in the fridge section from family dollar, 99, dollar general, etc go to the big grocery stores like Walmart, HEB, go to local farmers markets on Sunday if you can

Girl you make good points . Yes you ae absolutely right. People call me cheap because I rather pay $5 for a jug of coffe that will last me a month instead of going to starbucks every single day. People say oh $5 save wont make you any more rich. But I did it for a whole year girl I save over $1000 yearly by just not buying starbucks. You are right smart girl.

Yep, grew up with poor refugee parents so as an adult I dont buy sodas Juices, and snacks. I eat lunch and dinner. Prep meals. I can eat baked chicken, rice, and salads for days. I make beef rib pho and eat that for 3 days. Using cloth napkins.
Don't buy things I dont need. I only have eyeliner for makeup, blush was given for free at sephora. I wear my clothes for years, same weight better I only 2 twice a day. I buy classic item clothes. Jeans, cute tops, etc.

I had to stop buying second hand because of the recent price increase but I am now just waiting for those big sales once or twice a year! It has saved a lot of money and been able to get them new

Good general advice. I want to add on here. My side hustle was at a restaurant and the leftover food was how I ate. Always happy to take home a few extra slices of pizza or eat a hoagie someone didn't want.

Buying at strategic thrift stores can help you find even clothes with tags still on. Save for what you need. If you actually qualify for a government program do it. That's how my parents afforded my dental care as a teenager. Medical is a necessity.

These aren’t bad tips, but I would caution on not doing too many of them because it may just make you miserable lol. Remember the whole point to save money is to make your life better and less stressful. I like how she mentioned they may not be permanent. Also consider making more money, such as doing delivery jobs, getting mire skills/ education, applying for higher paying jobs/promotions or asking for a raise, or donating plasma

If I’m shopping for say, stew beef, I will always buy the cheapest package among the choices. Sometimes it only 75c or a dollar but the pride I feel spurs me to search out even tiny ways to save

Use high rate bank accounts. You can find accounts that pay 4.5% interest, and some now are going up to 5%.
