I'm so sorry, Jamie. He was quite literally your whole life, your best friend, everything to you, and you were everything to him, from best friend to dad. I'm glad we all got to be part of Sherpa's life and he got to be part of ours. We're all feeling this loss with you. Even the weather was mourning with you. He was a great dog, a great companion, and a highlight of my day. The world has lost an angel, but I know he's still watching over you from wherever he is.
Rest in peace, Sherpa. Forever loved, never forgotten.

My dog of 14 yrs lost her legs in the end too. Was so traumatizing to watch and say goodbye was a year half ago now but still i find tears flowing for her at unexpected moments. Saying goodbye was so hard but knowing when to help and doing so is so right.

I absolutely lost my sh*t when Jamie said "he best haunt me" -I am so deeply glad that Sherpa had his magnificent garden and house this last year. It really brought him joy.

I cried my eyes out! I lost my beautiful Labrador Retriever, who weighed 110 pounds at 15 years old. He saved me from a mountain lion attack. I raised him alone…..but put him in 16 weeks of training, because I knew he was going to be a big dog and could pull me down and injure me. When it came down I had the vet come to the house and he died
