Why Did the FBI Leak the Comey Memo?

Prof. Robert English, who worked for the U. S. Department of Defense, tells Paul Jay that a deep Russiaphobia and the interests of the military industrial complex are driving the permanent state to exaggerate the significance of Trump's transgressions so they can torpedo a more rational approach to U.S. Russia relations; that said, Trump and friends financial corruption involving Russian oligarchs may emerge as the real story

Professor English has hit the nail on the head. Great discussion.

Why did they leak? Because they are patriotic Americans.

We need to see the numbers and the details of how the US interferred with real free markets.

Why does the U.S. Complex want a Cold War? Follow the money, Lebowski!

BTW, Eisenhower initially coined the term as Complex in the draft version of his farewell speech.

Hmm ... I like TRN for its non-partisanship. Thanks.

Having lived in the USSR in the 1970's and early 1980's, my father worked for the State Department, I saw first hand how nearly six decades of a twisted form of Communism and not US interference in the 1990's was predominately responsible for the overwhelming majority of Russia's horrific economic problems under Yeltsin.

They need more proof than some so-called memo. I'm sick of all the BS going on in this coutry. Shut up and get to work for the people!!

Exactly! The US had no problems with dictators as long as their "our" dictators....

Is not clear, they don't like him. you have to be careful how you treat people. even when you're president you have to be care how you treat people.

This theory about Russia makes so much more sense than the current hysteria. The U.S. never...never looks at the damage and intrusiveness of what we've done to other countries; inclusive of Russia.

I see so many people sniping at each other about who is right about liking and disliking Trump. I can only shake my head and wonder why it matters so much. It is what it is.
I have never liked any President we have had since I was a child and I was born in 1954. I was 5 or 6 years old when we had the Cuban Missile Crisis scare; and I have seen Russia posturing against the USA throughout my entire life. But for all those years one thing is abundantly clear to me, no matter how much Russia and the US dislike and try to undermine each other, at the end of the day we all just sit down and eat our dinner like it is just a big family spat.

In essence, I see all the hype and propaganda out there as a way for the puppet masters in the media and political arena's to keep us, the common American citizens, enraged and engaged with each other. Distracting us from ever becoming a United country. Because if we could finally let ourselves see through the bullshit on all sides, and work with each other, we would be the ones driving our country's future.

On May 3 2017 in testimony before congress panel Comey said "not in his experience had anyone ask to stop investigations " He went on to say "people had give their opinion but not to stop investigations " . FACT

One of Trump's better ideas is trying for a better relationship with Russia. Motives aside. As nearly as I can tell there are financial ties with Russian mafia but what's unusual about unsavory ties in politics?
