Basically it's an Arabic word "Aftaar أَفْطَارُ" which means 'to break fast'. But as there so many people with different languages have different pronounciation and accents so they called it as 'Iftaar' too but correct is "Aftaar".
The Holy month of Ramzan is full of blessings with lots of joys, there are always 29 to 30 days which provides us to worship The Great God Allah and follow The Great Message of His Last Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon Him) and people do that. The time of after Aftar and taraveeh ( A type of prayer in which A man who is Qari recites The Holy Quran ) usually boys skip this prayer as its not hard n fast to perform except Namaz it's very very important to perform five times a day.
Boys Usually doesn't sleep at night they play cricket/ football/ or any board/ card games and some people do worship they recites Holy Quran or perform Nawafil (Extra good deeds) till Sehri (Pre-dawn meal before a day-long fast) after than some gets sleep some goes to their Jobs, kids to school, ladies also takes rest or perform Namaz and nawafils in a day time till Aftaar dinner.
Yes Eid ( A day of celebration of happiness and Blessings) is the Gift from Almighty Allah after the month of Ramzan for His worshipers and believers.

There is a great virtue of offering Taraveeh prayers but some naughty boys go and catch up with friends instead of going to Masjid. I remember my days when we use to tell our parents that we’re going to Masjid but we always use to end up catching up with friends, but it was only those days when I didn’t know the importance of Taraveeh prayers but now Alhamdulillaah I never miss my Taraveeh prayers. May Allaah guide all of us the right path. Ameen.

Iftar mean ; Fast breaking
Iftari mean: don’t know lol, almost the same and we use this word for aftar dinner.

Iftar Party; when we invite family or friends for Aftari.
