As great as "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH" is, the whole monologue is just as good (if not better) and its a great sum up for Jack Nicholson's character. Thanks for the video, the film is also one of my favourites, and I enjoyed learning more about it.

Gene Hackman was great in Unforgiven, but Jack should've won Best supporting actor that year for this movie.

The character of Joanne Galloway (Demi Moore) might be one dimentional about her moral ideals, but in my opinion, she is far from being one dimentional in the personal level. I think her character is all about confidence VS the lack of confidence. She moves between these two edges. From the first scene when we see her shyly prepering herself for the conversation with her surperiors and totaly losing her confidence during the conversation, we feel that she has issue about confidence and struggling for it. As much as she's confidence about the chances of success with the trial, she's very unconfident about her own skills. She looses confidence easily (when she assumes that Kaffee thinks she's a bad lawyer, for example), making at least two serious mistakes in court and has to suffer about it, ect. Interesting character, and Demi Moore nails it.

I find it interesting in how Tom Cruise is not doing any action and he’s still great. Kubrick probably broke him

Jack Nicholson makes every movie he's in better.

As a trial lawyer, I di not buy the Cruise character or the other lawyers. Lawyers only advise and give their clients their options. Moreover, Cruise does not know how to hit a baseball. The movie was entertaining but like most lawyer movies they miss the point about the practice of law.
