The boat captain can’t be the true mastermind. In season one Front Man was on the phone and said “I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the game sir, yes a minor situation has occurred.” The mastermind would truly rather be watching all the games instead of sailing a boat. Either the boat captain is another squid game winner who has fallen or is just another minion doing his share of the dirty work

Another interesting idea I heard from another video is the ending credits scene is for a trolley problem game to punish Gi-hun. Save one ally for 5 Os being ran over for example.

Game maker is the true villain. Just like the old man 001. However, the old man regret his choices after awhile and plan to destroy the games. He planted the frontman and get gihun to know his identity so that he could achieve it. It won't be easy to convince gihun but the frontman will eventually make gihun realise the bigger picture.

Frontman and gihun are interconnected. Both have strong conviction but polar opposite perspective. Old man 001 needs them both to dismantle the squidgame. Frontman have been given clear instruction to keep gihun alive at all cost.


All three groups are given invitation from the game maker. The players, guards and the VIPs. The VIPs story may flush out in season 3. They are the rich that gets bored of living. Similar to the winners of squidgames, most winners are from different region or countries of their own squidgames.

Season 3 may end in 2 more games instead of 3. The 'dead' players may be the key to bring the the detective to the island. There is an off chance that frontman reveal himself to gihun before telling him about old man's decision or bet. The players either escape or leave the island before it explode.

Gihun becomes the frontman of a new squidgame in a new location.

If the season ends at season 3, gihun watch as all the game maker fight each other to the death.

If there is more season, they hunt down the game maker by being an insider of the game. Alternatively, instead of season 4. The story expands to other region squidgames.
