The Xbox One X Makes Too Much Sense in 2024

The Xbox One X is already almost 7 years old, however don't let that fool you since it still packs a punch for a tiny price! The Xbox One X in 2024 delivers native 4K gaming up to 60 FPS, has Game Pass and can still play most of today's modern games. Also, did you know that the Xbox One X in a way is more powerful than the Xbox Series S?

(Mostly made for the Nordics and some EU countries)

Xbox One X (Scorpio) will always be one of my most beloved devices. It is very capable and has a beautiful, elegant design.

I have the One X and the Series X. I have the Series in the living room. One X in the man cave, The One X is indeed a superb machine.

According to Digital Foundry who are professionals in the field Series S beats One X in 2024. The gpu in the Series S is more advanced than the One X

Graphics don't matter. 1080p is completely fine for me.

I said this so many times before. 4k with disc drive UltraHD Blu-ray player plays 3 generations of games (4 while streaming with GamePass Ultimate). Also it has a sleek design that allows it to be placed anywhere without drawing attention like the monolithic Series X or PS5 consoles.

One massive advantage that the One X has over the Series X and S in my eyes is that you can easily replace the internal hard drive and put a ssd as you mentioned while on the Series consoles you can but it has to be only the brand of drives that they use during the manufacturing process and you have to carefully clone and plus if the internal ssd dies then the whole console is an expensive brick that you can't repair yourself at all and have to send Microsoft for a 300$ repair

A friend of my cousin sold me his mint condition Xbox One X for $50 bucks USD! Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. I owned a One S before it and it felt so unpowered, I played any newer games on it. You haven't truly experienced that gen until you've played those games enhanced on One X, or the Series X... 🤷

I just upgraded from my day one xbox one to a series s. Such a smooth transition. Although I will miss playing my old disc games but that's why I kept my xb1 for.

I bought my Xbox One X when the Xbox Series X was release in late 2020 on Rakuten (I don't know if you've got that in Sweden). It is a "Project Skorpio" Limited Edition in box for 180€ minus nearly 80€ with some discount point.

I've just got a 4K television at that time and I'm from the Xbox One FAT model, the One X was an Amazing upgrade. Every game that I own look so great on it.

IMO, the Xbox One X was THE pro model of the previous generenation, compare to the PS4 Pro, it's wasn't just the standard model with a better GPU, it was mind with 4k as the target and they just rethink the hardware. So the quality jump between both xbox one Fat/S and X is so Huge.

Now with the Series X as the juggernauts of Xbox hardware and the end of the CrossGen Game, the One X is kind tough to recommand as the main gaming device. BUT for someone who want to discover the Xbox brand, it's a great device !!!

The One X has 12GB RAM, 6 Teraflops 1TB ROM and has native 4K Support. The Series S has 10GB RAM, 4 Teraflops 512 GB (about 200ish GB are used for software), 1440p and NO OPTICAL DRIVE. That makes the One X obviously the winner, or does it?
Yes, the One X clearly takes the win in technical stuff, but the Series S has faster loading and is able to play current gen games. However the One X looks better, is capable of playing optical media like Digital Video Disc (DVD), Compact Discs (CD) or Blu-ray. As a person who (likes nostalgia and hates changes) regularly watches movies, has a big movie collection and just likes the Design of the One X in general the One X is definitely my winner.
My One X (project Scorpio) may be loud, slow and old but it still has the special place in my heart that the Series S could never earn. ❤

The xbox one x has a superior design. I love the design and it's still a powerful machine for the price. You don't need a next gen console to play great games!

A pc makes much more sense my friend.
Even a budget 500$ machine hits 60fps in all games. And the games are much cheaper and the most important part, no Xbox subscription for online play. Also components are much cheaper like a new controller.

Doesn’t make sense for me to go back owning a series x but i do kinda miss my One X. If you could speed up the One X to even Series S speeds then it’d be amazing.

After getting a Series X honestly the One X became a secondary UHD Blu-Ray player for the living room... But for the almost one year when it was impossible to get a series in Japan after release, I was very happy Game Passing on the One X and only feeling a hole with no Flight Simulator at its release 😅

Had a One S, got a used One X of eBay for £40, £60 for a 1TB SSD. Very happy, don't care about next gen games, not that many anyway and my backlog is huge so One X is more than enough.

IIRC a lot of 4K One X games used software trick to reach that resolution (Namely, checkerboarding)
Also with your recording it looks like having HDR enabled caused the contrast and saturation to just get thrown out of the window
