They really need an award for best defensive defenseman. You could keep the Norris for offense and call it the Orr trophy. People forget just how good Bobby Orr was defensively.

I'm amazed that nobody talks about Alexander Nikishin as one of, if not the most underrated drafted prospect. The guy has SHATTERED records for u25 defenseman in the KHL and he's only 21. Dudes got a huge frame and put up insane offensive numbers while being very solid defensively. I'm sure if a big market team had drafted him there'd be tons of eyes on him.

Josh Filmon is another intriguing name, 47 goals in 64 games this year in the WHL as a 6th round pick I think the Devils might have another steal on their hands

I think Zellweger is one of the most underrated prospects in hockey atm. 32 goals in the W this year and he was excellent defensively (especially in-zone) at the WJC which was great to see considering some were skeptical of him being 5'10 when Anaheim first drafted him but the more I watch him the more I notice he plays bigger than he actually is. Low center of gravity and strength on his feet allows him not to get bullied and he's an immovable object at times. His skating technique is flawless and his pivots and transitions are so clean and smooth. I personally think he'll be the Ducks' best blue liner when they're contenders again, even better than Drysdale and Mintyukov

Loved the whole vid, some very interesting questions and answers once again.
On Dumais, i've been so impressed with his passing, Draisatl kind of accuracy and that's a rare thing to possess at such a young age, glimpses of a very high Hockey IQ.
I'd even make the case he's the main reason Josh Lawrence is having better numbers than he did in Blainville or even Saint-John, more so than him and L'heureux boosting Jordan Dumais' numbers.
I only partially buy into the argument of the QMJHL being behind the other canadian leagues as well, that gap has been more or less bridged, there's so many truly talented kids in there now, even the pool of goalies is much better than it used to be. But i guess in those classic mainstream media old habits tend to die harder.

I picked up Harvey-Pinard in fantasy when he scored 2 against the Wings earlier this year and he’s been so hot since then. He scored a hatty like yesterday. I was like “who the fuck is this Kid” and needed another forward. Great move. Love the guy

Jonas brodin gotta be up there for most underrated defensive minded defenseman. Always is having to bail out matt dumba and can pretty easily keep up with mcdavid while skating backwards
