Launch audio, Headphones recommended. Seeing launches upclose continues to be a top life experience, especially at night. There is nothing like seeing the birth of an artificial sun on the horizon (the involuntary gasps and laughs from the crowd) and after 6 seconds of silence the gut rumble wave hits and washes over us. Video part way through. The Small popping buzz you hear at beginning are the telephone poles near us actually arcing. They were all night. Does a launch require more power draw than normal?

Lompoc sheriffs closed the beach access road so us kiwis all lined up along west Ocean ave above 13th. Launch took place at 5:31 a.m. PDT, October 9th 2017 #spacex Iridium-3 NEXT on Vandenberg AFB SLC-4e: 10 satellite delivery to low earth orbit (3rd in a contract for 75). A lot of people drove very far to experience 3 minutes. All were happy they did.
Following stage separation, the first stage of Falcon 9 landed on #justreadtheinstructions, a droneship stationed in the Pacific Ocean. The cosmic perspective just might save us.

Recorded using a Zoom H5
