I see some people talking about maritime borders. So let me give you the top 5 with ONLY maritime borders:
1- France: 27
2- the UK: 21
3- the US: 18
4- Russia: 16
5- Venezuela: 14

Now the top 5 if count LAND + MARITIME borders:
1- France: 38
2- Russia: 30
3- the UK: 24

Let me be clear, some people in the old video *purposefully* mentioned in the comments that Russia should be number one because they “claim” to border 18 countries(14 + LPR, DPR, Abkhazia, S. South Ossetia and to a lesser extent Abkhazia put in the effort in the early 1990s and rose up in armed rebellion with hardly any Russian presence at all. It was only later that Russia decided to use these two, but they were already there. They *are* real, and do not get enough credit, IMHO.

fun fact: french guyana is actually huge ( 1/3 of the size of the uk) so the longest border france has with another country is with Brazil, what seems weird because france is literally in europe

French Guiana is an overseas department, its citizens are French, it’s part of the EU, etc
Saint Martin is an overseas territory, it’s owned by France but not part of it. Therefore, France technically does not border the Netherlands, but it does with Brazil and Suriname
