Andy is top tier for Sinatra era crooners. In a class with Tony Bennett and Perry Como. And his Christmas specials are sensational. Andy gave me many holiday memories 👍🏻

This song went to #9 on the Billboard top 10 charts in 1970. Right up there with the greatest classic rock and R&B artists of the era. Says a lot about the diversity of music back then.
The song (music ) is from a huge hit movie at the time called "Love Story". Lyrics were eventually put to it, Andy recorded it, and the rest as they say is history.
"Maria" by him from the movie "West Side Story" will melt your heart.

You gotta see the movie, "Love Story" from which this song was drawn. Ryan O'Neil plays a rich but average student who is challenged by poor but smart Ali McGraw, who works at Harvard's magnificent Widener Library...or maybe it was Radcliffe. In time they fall for each other...and that's all I'll say. Unlike many movies, this one is actually filmed at Harvard, which is kinda romantic in the snow.

My mother and I watched The Andy Williams Show every week 1962-1970 l loved it. Love Story top movie of 1970 the music won Acadamy Award, the movie was very sad😢. Peace and Love ❤ Gary
