hey man love the vid, happy to see u got home safe. as a relatively newish rider myself of 4 months im happy to have you in the community. definitely like the guys said down below, when ur letting go of the clutch to get rolling from a stop especially on these smaller bikes you have to give it more throttle, rev range of about 3k should do and let the clutch out slowly. same with breaking, dont slam on them like you might in a car, slowly squeeze. goodluck and keep the vids coming

Man it's so heartwarming that your friend (whoever you were on the phone with) was so supportive but also looking out for you like hey you wearing protective stuff.
So sweet to hear dude

I miss my cbr300r but when it’s making that chugging noice you need to give it more gas. Give it gas as your reaching the friction zone and you’ll be smooth sailing

Nice dude, good to see you're geared up and keeping within your limits, hit up a MSF course if you can, you'll learn some invaluable techniques to keep you safe, ride safe man!

Nice video. Great to see more new riders recording their experiences.

Best advice I can give you.
1. be smooth on the controls
2. don't panic if your bike stalls at a green light (We've all done it)
3. get a good feeling of the bike at low speeds, and know where the "bite point" is on the clutch. smaller displacement bikes require a little more throttle when accelerating from a stop.
4. Keep your eyes up all the time, and build muscle memory.

and 5. if anyone sways you into riding with little gear, force you to ride outside your comfort zone, pay no attention to them. Just ride your own ride, and stay sensible.

Once again, Great video!

That first ride is scary as hell isnt it as theres riding, road rules, other cars, traffic lights, pot holes, so many things to be aware of simultaneously!

Proud of you for learning to ride and keeping safe while at it. A little advice please go to a parking lot and practice starting and stopping the bike. With how much you stalled in traffic it is very dangerous and you could get easily rear ended. Also if you can go do a MSF course, they are very helpful and an easy way to get your license.

TIP gear change for beginner's - you dont need to press the clutch all way in to change gear. this is 1 tip i saw when started and helped me a lot.

Really happy for you man, but I'd practice stopping and going before even trying to get on a road, quite frankly I was super scared of going on the road when I first got my bike so I learned in a decent sized parking area right by my place- but in due time I was confident and rode the road with ease, my advice is learn in a place where you can make mistakes safely, can't take chances on a bike friend...

Dude for being a first time it was amazing! I would recommend finding an empty parking space or street and just practice going from stop to rolling to get the feeling of the clutch, besides that, you look really confident keep going

Nice vid bro. When I started riding I would practice in an empty parking lot so I didn't stall in front of a bunch of people embarrassing myself lol.

Nice! Can't wait to drive around freely myself. So far I've had 14 hours of lessons and I have my first practical exam next week 😄Then another 10 hours of lessons or so for the final practical exam... I should be getting my license in a month or 2 when the nicer weather starts. So far I've also only been riding in rain and snow 😥

not sure if this is recent or not but If you give a little throttle while letting out clutch you won't ever stall, not a ton of throttle but go by the sound if it sounds like it's choking letting off clutch give some throttle

let the bike rev a little higher. try changing gears like 6000 - 8000. when i started doing that i found gear changes much smoother on my R3. you don't need to accelerate any faster than you were, just change gears a little later. it's also difficult to tell from the video, but be conscious of your grip, you don't need to grip the bars for dear life. more relaxed means smoother input. and yeah, go to some sort of training course. one of the most important things to train early on is knowing where to look while you're riding. good luck and many happy miles!
