My wife and I are family therapists. Insurances pay between $68 (medicare) and $122 per hour. We don't accept Medicare, Medi-Cal, or any government insurance. We take insurances that pay $100 per hour or more. The lower paying insurances call and beg us to take their clients because we are great at what we do.

If doctors would lower their prices so that average people could afford their services directly and cut out the insurance companies, both parties would win. The price for treatment ought to be more than what they would get from insurance companies (more than 10% profit), but not absurdly priced as they are now. (I went to the ER at the largest hospital system in my city this past July. I had an infected foot. I was in the ER for 6 hours and in front of a doctor for about 4 minutes of that time. I was in front of other medical personnel an additional 30 minutes estimated. The remainder of the time I sat in waiting rooms waiting on tests. I had blood work done and IV antibiotic. I got a bill for $15, 000 for that. Ridiculous.)

I would love for dave to ask questions regarding cost/visit and see there any inefficiencies there. Revenue with medicare is not modifiable, however, internal processes creating a bit more margin potentially is.

Fun fact every time I pay for for insurance I just don't cause I never have enough days off but when I get unemployment that's the only time I get insurance and use it so I have to pay for insurance. But only use it when its free so on paper every place I go get 10% 😂 THATS NOT MY FAULT that's company / government you guys need to give us more days off legally like every other e.u country

Heathcare is not a right and doctors don't go to school to not get paid. Pay for expertise or expect no service.

Unfortunately 60% are Medicare? What a sick woman. It would be progress if it was 100%! You don’t want people to pay more for healthcare! 😢
