maybe a low pass filter will help with the squeaky noise

Thanks, clear and concise, just what I wanted.

How the applied voltage will affect the core loss? For example, if applied voltage is 240V, watt meter read P=100W. When applied voltage change to 2400V, Core loss change to 1000W?

Test them by opening the hv side to reduce metering size and supply voltage

is there a considerable current flowing through the primary while secondary is open?

Awesome videos. Very helpful!
Have you uploaded a video on short circuit test for transformers? I can not seem to find one.

great video ....ty i have a test tomorrow and it helped a

In the simple explanation given ; core losses are measured by current and voltage BUT total current is includes the lossless current of te primary inducrance ...perhaps in more deailed accounts this error will be corrected.

Hi, do you know if you are able to conduct the open circuit test onto a current transformer? I have seen a lot of warnings about open-circuiting the secondary winding of a current transformer. However, if you are not able to open circuit the secondary windings of a CT, then how would you calculate/measure the transformer core losses/equivalent parameters?

Instead of focusing on the explanation he provided, I have been shockingly surprised by how he was writing. Was he behind a glass board with a camera in front of him? If so, how on the earth was he able to write from the back side? Did he train himself to write in mirrored fonts??

Hi Sir. Can you show us what is corner grounded 3phase system?

It definitely helped, from a simulation perspective (software) I can energize either the LV or HV winding to measure the core loss correct? The reason I am asking this question is because in the EMTP-RV software the Magnetization Branch is located in Winding 1, so would that suggest that the excitation needs to be applied on Winding 1?

Sorry, lost concentration the second you started writing. Am i missing something or are you legendary at writing mirrored perfectly?

LOL - you don't need to go through all that - just use an ohmmeter. if it's open it will measure high resistance. prove me wrong.

What would cause a voltage increase on a primary? We are having our 25k transformers 37.5k surge arrestor firing constantly. Spikes of 50kV and 500+amps
