Legend has it the ghost notes still haunt that auditorium.

Not a slight against guys like El Estepario Siberiano but in the grand scheme of things, I find this simple groove much more satisfying to the ear because of the focus on dynamics rather than a billion notes all at pretty much the same volume. I can appreciate both however even if I prefer one over the other.

Have always loved Steve holding the sticks as if they were brushes - an artist painting on canvas.

There’s a big difference between being musical and just technical. Gadd has both and makes listening to the drums enjoyable.

It’s interesting to see someone using traditional grip on the hi hat instead of the snare. Whenever I see someone using traditional grip it’s usually on the snare and the other hand is using non traditional grip. Steve Gadd; a master at work.

... Steve Gadd does not have what I call abstract chops, Gadd will always give you something that you can feel, Steve Gadd always plays out of a pocket...🎉

Guess it's a question of the placement of the got to serve somebody, it might be the devil, it might be the Lord, but you have to serve somebody.
