Got it as well. It's honestly all 99% of people need. Size and ease of use is what makes it. Auto pairing with wireless mic is also amazing. It nails sound and image.

I could toss it to my mother in law who never used a camera, then after quick explanation, she was able to get incredible footage for me.

DJI is a Chinese manufacturer. In Asia the FILTER GAME is insane and in China it's on steroids. Western reviewers all seem to 💩on the inclusion of the beauty filter but its a solid selling point in the east and doesn't affect usage if you don't want to use it.

It can replace any camera, I have the original Osmo Pocket to me it was great I used it as a main camera along with 3 other camera for a music video recording of a band and the low light footage was good.
It's not on par with my Sony cams it's a fact but it's good and good enough for youtube our target audience viewing them they don't care what camera I used or know settings I have they know the content was great the filming was good multiple cameras and music video is what they wanted.

We are so spoiled in camera tech these day that we're forgetting where we came from like in the era in the 90s of Sony camcorders that were fantastic to people then and good enough for America's Funniest Videos.

You may be doing the right thing to use the auto mode most of the time. Doing some testing last night I noticed that even if the settings displayed in auto mode are replicated in manual mode, the image is significantly different - for instance, face exposure against a light background is spot on, whereas in manual is was much darker. Some AI processing going on, I think, not just global exposure setting.

When using filters, if it tucked the filter away when powering off, you could not change the filter as readily as you did when discussing this issue. Just a thought.

Background blur - I think it is partly a matter of changing shooting style to accommodate this. If you are vlogging about a location, spend less time in selfie mode and more time just showing the scene, in focus, while you talk off camera. And if the camera focusses on the wrong thing, tap the required focus point on the screen.

My two gripes are the way in which the internal mics recorded on the audio backup wave file collapse to mono when using the Mic 2 (but not a third party mic...) and the external mic disconnection which happens when the mic is connected to the port on the battery handle and the battery goes flat. This could be disasterous for a prolonged shot at an event. Like missing the vows in a wedding video for instance...

I just came back from a ski trip and was surprised how well the battery held. It was mostly enough for the full day and in one occasion I just used a powerbank while I drank some wine. I used to have a gopro and it was a nighmare in colder weather.

This camera is more that enought for most of the people! From my experience - I bought it on Wednesday, took it to my sister's wedding on Friday. I asked my 8 year old niece to record because it was more acceptable in church ;) On event some of the footage was recorded by myself, some by my niece. And after putting records to my PC I was shocked about the quality! After all edits I played whole wedding video on my big tv and quality was amazing. My sister also was shocked and very greatful because they didn't have any cameraman on this event. So if you want to record something just to save memories you should buy it! :)
