I live on an island with only garters and sharp tails. Snake lovers paradise, I can absolutely launch myself after any snake no worries at all. Plus they keep slugs outta my garden 👍

I saved a Dekay's Brown from my father last month. He kept poking it with a stick thinking it was venomous and trying to get it to run away. I'm like, Bruh... stop. so I threw on a garden glove ('cause it was understandably angry and kept striking. I didn't feel like bleeding) and took it to the woods.

I grew up in an area with a ton of Garter snakes and they were always so chill. Literally could pick them up and hold them and they would not care at all, just chill in your hands

Yup FORD snakes are common on the road in all parts of the US and any place snakes are found.

I almost stepped on a timber rattlesnake when I was a kid. I froze mid stride when I heard the rattle. She was coiled right where I would have put my foot down. Was the first and only time I've seen a rattlesnake in the wild and I will never forget it! (I was up in Northern Wisconsin at the time which is close to but out of their normal range)

We saw a timber rattler on a trail once while hiking. The thing was huge, and had very obviously just eaten a big meal of some sort. It was just chilling in the grass. We gave it a wide birth and I don’t think it moved an inch but I was watching it like a hawk.

I hear bites are rare but I ain’t playing my chances if I see one.
