My grandfather owned a wood working mill 60-90 years ago. Boy that would have been a great tool for him. I remember the machines he had. This would have amazed him.

Amazing machine, some of these tools are so brilliant, how did we do without them for centuries.

Let me preface this by saying this is far beyond my abilities and I am impressed!
I feel like having a round over (fillet?) on the underside of the grip between the groove and the outside face would make it a little nicer to hold! Since the weight is being applied to your finger tips, having the slightly sharpish edge could dig in a bit if you have a whole turkey on there or something.
Basically: make the depth cut square, then round over the lip instead of the bottom? Hopefully that makes sense.
Again, this is amazing and way better than I could do, I just wanted to share my thoughts in case it helps make something even better!

Really cool!! What would help you to hold your plank of wood up while trying to clamp it would be a couple of 123 blocks or parallel bars depending on the spacing under your plank of wood that is, so that way you're not struggling to clamp your piece and it'll help with keeping it straight and level as well. This will also help when the cutter is plunging in for a cut, if the piece you have clamped is not clamped tight enough the 123 blocks will hold it from shifting in the clamps resulting in an uneven cut.

Cool project! I noticed that you have the new ATC. Would you mind sharing any documentation on how to set that up? both in terms of hookup and script changes to drive it. Thank you!
