Taking a look at some of the Lego sets that retired during 2024.

There are already quite a few sets that are doing well and selling for much more than their recommended retail prices on the 2nd hand aftermarket, even though we are only a few days into 2025.

In this video I take a look at some of the sets that are performing well, as well as some of the sets that are not doing that great, so far.

I buy sets to quick flip when the price is discounted, then it funds the sets like the Nintendo console which I put away for a few years. Hopefully the sets go up in value. It's like a lottery, Some you win and some you lose. It's all the fun of Lego investing. I also enjoy the chase to find bargains and also to watch your videos to see if I've bought the same. 😃

Thanks for the overview Iain. Some of those sets have increased quite nicely already. I have a couple of them stashed away for resale. Was lucky enough to pick up 2 of the A Frame cabins at 50%off. So will be hanging onto those for a bit. Thanks for the great video as always. Cheers Kevin

The Bat Cave…£600 …wtf….i am shocked. In fact, I am surprised by a lot of these. Some of the unpopular sets doing great. Bought the Cantina at £240 so a good start if going for £300 already. Expect it to take off in the end as lots bought it on discount.

So for me, I did manage to grab a couple of Batcave’s as Batman always does well … I just wasn’t expecting this well so soon, so think these will find their way onto eBay already!!

A-Frame house and the Marvel building are still in stock in Smyth’s and lots of stock as well … and a bit shocked with the A-Frame house would do well like all “Idea” sets!!

And regards the others that are doing well earlier on, just shows what the “retirement pop” can do for a set!!

I've noticed a few people selling the Endor Brickheadz separately and seem to be getting more doing it this way. I'll give it to the end of the year then may join them 😀

I'm still trying to work out the best way of doing this, do I sell a few every year after they've retired & repeat or sell the whole lot in 2040 & retire into the sunset?

The Sanctum Sanctorium is an incredible exemple of the difference between geographical markets; In the US it seems to be going for over 400 dollar and be very sought after whereas in Europe it's going for under retail. One of the extremely rare occasions where it may even be worth buying from the European market and shipping to the US. Living in France I'm not sure if I'm happy I picked 2 up for 147€ each or sad that I'm not in the US to sell them for over 400$ 😂😂😂. Incredible difference!

In North America, Sanctum Sanctorum is doing really well. 50% + increase in value so far.
