Hello Darlings, in this weeks video I show you how to make a cute vintage style apron from scratch (no pattern required)! This is a great project for beginner's and even advanced sewers as you can make this apron as detailed as you want, it's all up to your imagination! :) I hope you all enjoy this little sewing video and learn something from it!
Until next week...
Lots of love Sage xx

Such a cute pattern. I want to share a few things I find helpful when making gathers in case you have novice sewers out there. One is to sew two rows of gathering stitches instead of just one. Not only is it helpful to already have that “bonus” thread if one breaks, but I find it is easier to pull two threads than just one.
The second tip is to be sure to pull the bobbin thread as you gather. It seems to be a bit looser, therefore it pulls more easily. I usually pull on one end of the thread until I get to the middle, then I pull on the other end until it meets where the first one stops.
Happy sewing, everyone!

I love this so much! I am the proud owner of a beautiful vintage and/or handmade apron collection and now I'm going to make a ton of my own! Lol. I have a feeling that everyone that I know will be gifted handmade aprons this year. Lol.

This is so great! What an adorable apron.. love the ruffley heart bodice and pocket so much! Also love the retro color of your sewing machine 😍 Even the little heart pins you used were so cute! Another lovely video.. best channel on YouTube, hands down!💕

Thank you so much for explaining the crossover straps! I've always wanted an apron where the straps cross over at the back but I've never actually known how to do it. Mum has promised me we'll make me a cute apron once her sewing stuff is set up (she recently moved house). I'd do it by myself...but the last time I touched a sewing machine it was 20 years ago in school and I was distinctly in the not-gifted student category :(

I have two vintage aprons: one I found at an antique store and the other was handmade by my grandmother. It's very lightweight, almost handkerchief material. Thanks for the tutorial.

Thank you! I appreciate all the attention to detail as a novice. The apron is so pretty. I was looking to buy one similar. I should just make it. 🌸

Wow I love the apron idea! You should start your own clothing line for the 1950s! I would definitely buy! Hope to see more! 😊😁👀

Oh wow! The idea with the loops in the waist is amazing! I will do that on my next apron. So smart. I always had to button the shoulder steaps to the waist

Fab apron. I sort of expected a laptop you use to have a mechanical keyboard, and be made of bakelite though 🙂

So cute. If you do two rows of gathering stitches the gathers behave a little better That's what my grandma drilled into me when we made skirts.

Since subscribing to your channel, I’ve started to wear aprons. Ironically bought over 10 years ago but never really worn them, too nice! Got fed up with dealing with grease/tomato stains on my clothes, after watching you, the apron came out of the drawer!!
