You should add a pvc union between each rain barrel. Then you will be able to separate the barrels for cleaning or in a cold climate to be able to store the barrels upside down for winter.

Thanks for showing the details and "tricks" on how you set this up. Many just show the final set up wo showing much details of how they constructed it.

hello, I installed a similar system, but instead of connecting by a plumbing system with the costs involved, I use a syphon system from one barrel to the next barrel. It does work, I found it out on YouTube, not having any holes ensures no leaks and it is very easy to increase capacity with an extra barrel and you can very easily remove a barrel for cleaning. Try it with 2 pop bottle and some plastic pipe, move the bottles up and down and see what happens.

Thanks for the string trick! If you turn the Teflon tape around as you unwind it from the spool it will remain tight giving you more control as well.

Thank you for documenting and sharing this procedure, and your wealth of knowledge on it. Now, about that mobile work bench.... can I see more on that? I've been needing to build one for my table saw and miter saw (probably two separate ones).
