The Android Emulator is finally supported on Apple Silicon natively and I'm testing it out on my M1 MacBook Air. I also compare it to the native iOS Simulator just for fun.

I love your videos, but things are getting clumsy a bit now for comparisons. 4:18 clearly show the timer stopped past 8 seconds and then a couple more seconds the text show on the screen of iphone simulator. so 5 seconds on second run is not a good comparison. the actual time of first run could be easily calculated when editing your video.
Also I know editing is important but try to keep real time for when first running simulator/ emulators or at least show in text the time when editing.

Just a couple suggestions as I really like your channel and hope it goes in the right direction and stay informative

The best part is that emulator runs so fast even though it warns that hardware acceleration is not enabled.

I think the build time of the android app increased compared to your previous video because you went from a zulu JDK (meant for ARM) to the one packaged with Android Studio which is meant for x86. You can try with the zulu JDK 11 and see if it improves

Awesome Alex, could you go for a shot with latest Flutter compare to Intel-based machine? Still considering if should I switch to MacBook Pro M1 from Core i9 🤔

Can anyone clear the following doubt for me? android studio when run on Windows computer processors, then it remains as an image in arm, will it be like a 100% native android cell phone? making it possible to launch any application from the play store, without exception? because when I'm on my Windows notebook, the Intel processor is only possible to run with the emulator, can anyone clear this doubt for me regarding Android Studio on M1, M2.

This is an incredible achievement. A fanless machine killing it in both performance and battery life

But I've got a question: how do we make mouse keyboard mapping on this emulator (like when you play games and you just want to use keys instead of moving mouse every second for everything)

hi, do you recommend MBA M1 16GB Ram & 512GB SSD or MBP M1 8GB RAM with the same storage? I usually code for ReactJs and Android (Kotlin) and maybe some React Native in the future. I really want to get the MBP M1 with 16GB Ram but I don't have that much money.

Now show us how to get an android emulator to work on intel based macs running Sonoma. BlueStacks, Nox etc don't work

Ugh, still, it does not have enough power and memory to run a 1 GB game which my galaxy s8 can easily do.

Relevant in November 2022? Since there have been more CPUs like the M1 max, M2, etc. Is the M1 Air fast enough considering the updates in Android SDKs and iOS' XCode? I get that the M1 Air wont be faster than those but is it good as of right now(Nov-2022)?
