I was so deflated when you got to the end of the clip and I saw there wasn't any more reaction coming. I see the comments already told you there's a scene after that where House admits to making the whole thing up to Wilson. Wish whoever made the clip had left that in for you, would have made for a great end of the video.

House's line about the need for a man to be sitting on the toilet first is one of my two top medical lines from any TV show. The other comes from an episode of Star Trek Enterprise. The alien doctor is giving one of the crew some physiotherapy for an injury sustained in the previous episode. The crewman complain, stating it can't be ethical for the doctor to cause his patient that much pain. The doctor, Phlox, pauses for a moment, before responding, "It would be unethical to harm a patient. I can inflict as much pain as I like." :D :D

I like it so much a made a poster out of the quote imposed on an image of the character and gave it to my physio, who had loved the line and stuck the poster on her office wall. :D

Even when House was doing all this to win a bet (the bet was that he couldn't be nice enough to someone in order to get a honest gift)... all his nice act fell apart once the lady tries to stick to one of the most silly excuses to justify pregnancy: I sat on a public toilet XD. That's when House said: "I'm done with this, you little...". Partially, the joke of the bet is that: Wilson is positive that House's commitment to his ideals will make impossible to him to let any silly thing during that day just to slide.

Oh, woman of little faith XD.... Sorry, couldn't avoid that, back to the serious comment: as mentioned, this was House finding a (quite outrageous) way to get this lady out of hot water in order to win a bet. It should be also noted, thought, that (from storytelling perspective) all the bricks were in place for the trick to work: the mother wants an excuse to be pregnant (when she swears she is a virgin); the boyfriend wants a reason to believe the girl's story; both seem to have strong moral, if not religious, principles (both made the agreement to stay pure until their marriage), the machine that could make the test was broken and House needs to win a bet after delivering his particular version of justice (and walking into the room with this miracle story after being a jerk to the girl, just boost the "miracle" story for the boyfriend).

Yep, everyone wished really hard for this X'Mas miracle XD.

House hated having to work in the clinic, so although he would never actually put someone's life at risk he wouldn't be so concerned about how he spoke to people. I imagine he was trying to make himself as unpleasant as possible, while sticking to the rules, hoping enough complaints would get him out of clinic duty.

As someone who is a Doctor of Molecular Biology and knows how insanely messy this is I would say "never" is not an appropriate word. The idea that regressive genes could lead to entire populations is equally insane and yet that happened.

As mammals reproduce via genomic imprinting all you would need is two mutations and a trigger which is what House is talking about here.

That said, it has never happened and I'd have to see several test results converging on the same end result with full oversight of every procedure to believe it and even then I'd want several tests when the child is born.

Parthenogenesis has been induced artificially in invertebrates, but I have never heard of anyone trying this in higher animals like mammals.
