i over pack my 13 yr old daughter’s lunch for this reason. we are here to share what we have an abundance of. Kindness opens doors and later when they need somewhere to stay for a few nights they know my door is open. they are good kids and i wish i could help them more. it’s good for my daughter to see all sides of life not just the pretty parts. maybe not experience them herself but to be aware that they are there and others are experiencing them.

My parents used to give me extra food to give to people that didn’t have enough. Sometimes the only meals kids are getting are at school.

As somebody who used to do this with my wasn't really fed at home, lol. My father is/was abusive, and he would heavily restrict my food intake, calling me overweight. Surprisingly, I wasn't overweight until after the eating disorders that caused me. I was just tall and needed more food than others(I am almost 5"11). I eventually healed my relationship with food and now that im in college and away from him, I'm doing a lot better both mentally and physically, but yeah sometimes kids who do this are struggling at home (not always the case but definitely a possibility)

Because some of our families didn’t feed us… I was in that category when I lived with my father and step mother.

I was that kid but i wasn't getting enough food at home so i genuinely appreciated the kids who saw it in me and gave me extra money for snacks

I used to worry about my friends sometimes because of this, but eventually I realised they're just big foodies that love to eat 😅

When I was younger my parents just told me to cook or take something out of the fridge to eat but all we had was salad and a can of soup or smth like that 😭 so when I went to my friends place I would eat everything their mum cooked me cause I was so grateful for the food 💗
