Pretty solid review except for one point: Boimler accusation that Mariner was giving weapons as somehow a 'leap'. Remember, Mariner is the psychopath that swung and injured a fellow officer with what was likely a stolen Klingon weapon while drinking on duty. Not to mention that has enough pull to keep the report of her assault repressed. She should have been court martialed.

I’m so glad that there’s no international distribution, thank you my US and Canadian cousins for watching this for me and taking it on the chin.

They just don't understand how nerd works. We love the details, the minutiae of the moment.
To write Star Trek you must know the lore or you'll just end up annoying the fans and lose your audience.
Thanks for the upload, extremely appreciated.

"What type of officers attend a bar armed with phasers?"
Hopefully the type that know what end of the phaser to point at the target. As we all know, that is not always a given.

Been saving these up now binge watching the first 7. Loving the dryness. Very good.

I'm surprised that no one seemed to notice that the main title music starts with the same notes as the TAS opening theme. I thought that was a nice nod.

Star Trek used to be made by real Nerds that know every little Detail of Trek Canon, but today its made by political Hacks that only have rudimentary Knowledge of the Lore.

Remember when Picard gave Ro Laren the business for her ear jewelry not being proper dress code? And no one tells Ensign Stunning And Brave to roll down her damn sleeves?

It's interesting how many times I've heard (or read) the phrase "Comedy is subjective" recently... roughly translated it means, "Not funny but no one has the guts to say so"

Not sure about making the giant spider sentient, but it could have been a cultural or local tradition to ingratiate yourself with the livestock/pets that race has. They could have even kept the part of him getting suckled on if they framed the situation a bit differently.

Going by the suggestion. Say, he sticks his arm in the creature's mouth and has to do the same creating this awkward situation that he does because of being the by the books guy he is. Once completed he turns his back to walk away only to be sucked up and suckled on by the giant spider. BM (I'm definitely calling her bowel movement from now on) shows concern for what's happening to him while the farmers seem ecstatic by this reaction, yelling out "she must really like you!" BM askes the farmers if he's going to be okay and the farmers explain the situation and tell her he'll be fine, that the creature is a herbivore. With the explanation, she relaxes and even joins in with cheering him on.

Not interested. If I want real sc-fi comedy, I watch either Orville or the classic Red Dwarf! Long live chicken vindaloo!

Great review I wish they wanted to make a real Star Trek show. I really liked the idea of this show.

Is Ransom related to the same Captain Ransom of the Equinox who used sentient lifeforms to enhance his ship’s engines to get out of the Delta Quadrant faster in Voyager?

Also, the writers don’t know that in DS9, the Section 31 episode with the Romulans, Romulan Ale van is lifted! Romulan Ale is now legal
