You should show this again but with the F14B using takeoff flaps. They rip at 850kmh and provide a boat load of lift to really tighten your turn. I bet you will see magical results.

In the 2 circle part of the last dogfight, I noticed that you were decreasing and increasing your altitude as you went around the circle. Don't do this in an aircraft that favors the 2 circle fight, as it makes an offset 2 circle which allows the MiG to shoot at you when the circles intersect, as he did in the video.

Good video, and you have the right idea on how an F14B should fight a MiG 29. The problem is, you're still somewhat flying the F14 as if you were flying a MiG 29. Discounting the last dogfight where you committed to a rate fight at the complete wrong speed/flap configuration and of course lost, you really need to fly to the opponent's tail and use the vertical more, the F14 is not meant to be flown aggressively, it is supposed to tire out the other plane of energy the longer the fight goes on. This is very much possible since the MiG 29 just pulls a lot of AoA and bleeds its speed more in turns. I know you've heard this a lot, and it's hard to believe that the F14 has more thrust at those lower speeds at times, but it very much can climb over just about any other plane's nose in the game. The proper way to fly this plane is in Defyn's video, where they both merged towards the deck at high speeds like you would in an actual match.

If you use the acm radar modes and adjust the scope, you can make the radar see above the aircraft. This allows you to lock the enemy with the radar and use the aim9L off bore. This usually works in the rate fight if you use flaps properly

the F-14B can actually one circle the MiG29 at mach 1 and if you pop takeoff flaps after a couple of dodges and keep 600 IAS OR LOWER the enemy has no chance. If the F14A was the Ta152H of jets the F14B is the Ki83 equivalent.

The F-14 with landing flaps will outrate anything except the F-16 BUT if the the opposing aircraft has a better instantaneous turn it will by able to do counter 2 circle tactics and try to force the 1 circle, if the MiG-29 forces the 1 circle then the tomcat will be in serious trouble.

You should cut afterburner when going down in a vertical 2 circle and on when going back up

why did you not use any flaps the takeoff flaps are usable at 600+ if im not mistaken and you turn ok for a ship like that

Just a reminder that this is the very first model of the MiG-29 and the final, definitive version of the F-14.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the MiG-29 is/will be the better dogfighter.

You should be using 30 minutes or even 45 minutes of fuel because in real combat you will most likely not be facing a MiG-29 on 20 minutes of fuel
