OUTWARD - How To Get Magic Fast and Easy

Magic is extremely important to your survival in Outward. You can easily acquire it in Chersonese or Harmattan. I prefer to take the path with the yellow flags in Chersonese. Fair warning, the fee to get to Harmattan isn't cheap...

Outward is an RPG/survival game that allows you take to make an almost infinite number of builds. Melee, magic, archery, and even traps are scattered across this harsh world in the form of skills. You must have a large amount of money to purchase these skills, but luckily the monsters drop extremely valuable items. The game has been harshly criticized due to how realistic and difficult it is. Feel free to subscribe and watch me beat the crap out of some crazy monsters.

While Reveal Soul is a good free spell and I have grabbed it often in the past, I have since then switched to Sigil of Fire due to a few things:
1. Fire Stones. Pretty easy to make, heck even cheap to make if you find/mine the stones. Having Sigil of Fire is a huge boost in damage at the start of the game along with Flamethrower.

2. Free Reveal Soul. Can be nabbed for 50 silver by the Cabal Hermit in Chersonese. Sure you have to get past The Ghost Path, but tbh that place isn't that hard to traverse through, been able to make it through either running past them all *or* even relying on a Mana Trog staff to beat some of the ghosts to death. On the other hand, Fire Sigil is only buyable in *Monsoon*, which for new characters (atleast in my experience and opinion), is harder to journey through.

3. Mana issues. Again while Reveal Soul + Ignite is very conveinient, there are plenty of places in Chersonese in the land, caves, and merchants to grab turmmips and star mushrooms for mana potions and pottage. once i learned about that i started to regret reveal soul UNTIL i got Conjure. (although on the topic of mana I do agree with you that one should start with 20-60 mana before going any higher due to many reasons in the early game. The Scholar set and optionally included staff, with Pottage and Potions, makes 20 mana not so bad of a hinderance)

Great video though, I always come back to these when I make a new character and plan to get some magic due to always forgetting the labyrinth of Conflux Mountain :P

I took +10 mana. No regrets! Little annoying to run out of stamina but it's so fun to have a large mana pool and go several fights without running out.

Big fan of your videos, awesome tips and tricks! Not sure if anyone knew this already or not but, instead of buying/making multiple torches you only ever need 1. When using flamethrower do NOT toss a "broken" torch! You can still use flamethrower (as much as you want) even if the torch is "broken"! Also if you buy and carry an ice-flame torch, when you use flamethrower it will be ice damage instead of fire! (can also use "broken" ice-flame torch as much as you want to). This will potentially free up some resources (even though torches are cheap to make/buy) and you wont need to carry mutiple torches. This works the same way with "broken" lanterns. One last thing, it doesn't seem to work all the time, but equipping a broken torch in cold environments will still provide heat/warmth! 🧙‍♂️Mages rule!

If you are new to the game and you see this video, don't directly go to get mana.

First explore around, you can find things like blue dust from fishing or on beaches which sell good, and other stuff from around the world by looting and gathering stuff.

Go to the upper docks in the city (out, wood stairs), and walk until you see 2 weird characters, one of them has 2 skills that increases stamina and health.

After increasing your maximum health and stamina, then go and get mana, you will be able to get like 200 mana and keep the same health as you had when starting the game. Stamina will be a little lower than before but you'll have enough stamina to cast fireballs or what else you need

Made it to Berg without doing this first. I was going to do this once i ran back to Cierzo to use Rissa'a key, but then i got sidetracked into completing the 3 warlord quest to defend Cierzo. Also got the cool little coil lamp by helpig to fix the water purifier 😄

I want to get the mana to be able to use the Chakrams, along with my bow and melee weapons. 😆

Love your videos dude, so cut and dry and helpful for a busy guy like me!

Near the end of the video, you had 120 mana, health and stamina. Did you use all 3 of your skill breakthroughs on +40 health stamina and mana? Cos you also said you could get more health if you follow campaign, is this what you meant or do some missions reward you in health training?
Cos I don't want to use my last 2 skill breakthroughs on health and stamina.

What will happen if the helper died? Will someone respawn there or this method will not work for me anymore?

Flamethrower works with ALL left hand light sources, including iceflame torches for cold dmg and coil lanterns for lightning dmg.

….or… you could use the Lantern of Souls for Ethereal dmg, and that NEVER runs out, so it’s not a bad choice if you really like flamethrower skill. It will also cause the haunted hex (other lanterns cause their associated hex, like slow for ice) so if you paired it with the ethereal sword from the rune mage tree, you’ll do even more dmg.

The virgin lanterns also work, and provide different effects as well, but they don’t refill normally… they do, but in a weird way.

How does a traveler in the medieval times not once think to maybe get a horse?

What? Reveal Soul is nowhere near Fire Sigil in early level! You can get plenty of fire stones (Mana stone and oil are easy to get) and it is massive power surge for you - you can kill pretty much anything in starting zone just using Fire Sigil and Spark...
