Less than 2 months old @Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

Accidental drop at half height with Samsung Z Fold phone case.
Perfect and direct impact damage to hinge when phone is closed and WALA! It broke the screen too!

Gone were the days when you are afraid to drop phones screen down and the fear when you pick it up and scringe before the truth sets in.

Now - Drop a fold and get a heart attack.

@Samsung - The hinge is ridiculously brittle!

The truth is that the old hinges have some QC issues. Even if you drop a phone, it shouldn't be this bad. Look at how high old samsungs and iPhones could be dropped without an issue. I had to recently just upgrade to the 5 after my 4 kept having hinge issues. The screen wouldn't malfunction, but it stopped opening all the way. I never dropped it. I went as far as to clean the phone from dust regularly like a peized trophy. I rarely used the inner screen too, so that i could try to preserve the phone ahead of the 6 release. It still happened again after i started noticing the replacement hinge adhesive they used, which started acummilating on the hinge itself. It was replaced at a samsung experience store, too. While im upset that i had to replace it so close to the release of the 6. So far, the 5 is just way better in terms of the inner screen and hinge. It feels more polished and not like the phone is going to break from being opened.

As a fellow Galaxy Fold 4 owner and manager at a store that works on computers / anything that's tech at all. If you use it enough, that's natural wear-n-tear, lol. It happened to mine when I was cleaning the screen from smudges and quickly progressed.

I didn't even drop my phone and that happened, my story sounds weird but it's true I was putting new screen protector and I was trying the bubbles however when I put more pressure on the middle part which is hinge it got like that

there's a really big dent in the hinge. Look closely. Because of the impact it affected the inside of the screen You could see it's perfectly lined up with the dent.. Don't know what happened with your phone but this phone has nothing to do with the sand problem.

I've had mine for 7 months I very rarely shut the phone. Have a good Spigen air cushion case that covers the hinge and the whole phone.

Never had one issue with any of the screens.. they both have screen protectors the inside has the built-in one.

I will never go back to a slab phone ever again... When I go back to a slab phone I miss my fold 4 very quickly just not the same feel every screen seems too small too narrow..

The only time I ever fooled my phone is when I'm going from the house to the car maybe open and close it 4 times a day max. I can even fit the phone with the case and the s pen into my jean pocket believe it or not..

I basically only close the phone for protection when I need it..

I've been to the beach with no problems....

Problem with my fold 4, sometime inner display turns on and sometimes dont. It has white horizontal line on the right display at the top. Touch sounds can be heard but nothing on the display. After some days of unfolding inner display works. Can someone help me how this inner display works at most times.
