Mine went off as expected.
It was a repeating hypnotic tone.
I then got the sudden urge to vote Tory, and I now 100% trust everything the govt suggests.😂

Sitting in a crowded café in the North East of England - 14:57 came around and various phones in the place went off. I had my emergency notifications switched off and was heartened to see my phone remain silent. I've worked as an IT Consultant testing multiple Government systems in the past and it's true, they really can't organise a piss-up in a brewery. Not surprised at all that this was botched.

I wonder how many millions of pounds of tax payers money went into this.

Having grown up with the culture of 4 minute warning it was alarming to find that a national alarm was needed now. Even more disturbing that on test day no device in my home received the warning. Oh well clearly I' m disposable.

In my case, I got the bloody annoying alarm, and as I was visiting my mother in a care home at the time, her phone also went off !! The alarm was too loud, too annoying, and makes me wonder why it was even necessary. I'm way past trusting anything the government says and does !!

Mine went off to warn me that the mother in law was on her way, so I quickly ushered everyone upstairs and told them to stay silent and don’t come out from under the bed until the all clear was sounded. I however did the brave thing and kept lookout through the curtains until the danger had passed.

It came just before 15:00, and read "Those of you that receive this message have been chosen to spend the rest of you're lives in luxury. Those we didn't must return to work Monday morning."

We were bombarded with phone alerts during a major bushfire in my part of Australia. They were completely useless because they came from central control which had no idea of local conditions, local terrain, or what was going on out here. In emergency conditions, you need information from the front line. Just saying.

At that time, I had 3 devices sounding. After the alarm, my work phone (I work in community care) had locked up! Managed to reboot it eventually, but to be honest, I really haven't time for messing about like that. Not impressed 😕 taxpayers' money being shelled out to who knows where, reminds me of the scandalous waste of money on ppe during the early part of the pandemic. BTW, your channel is awesome 😊

Went off a minute early and did two alarm sounds that weren’t very loud and lasted approx 3 seconds!

Here’s what happened… loads of us took positive action to reject project fear by turning off the notification.

I was driving at 69mph on the A1, North of Peterborough, when at 14:59 the alert hit my phone as expected.
It didn't alarm me, even though I'd forgotten about it.
What was very spooky was the message that was read out by what sounded like the same person that read out the "early warning" messages we heard and saw on TV back in the 60s during the "Cold War".

I had forgotten all about this! We have two mobiles in the household, neither went off. I've subsequently checked, and neither have notifications turned off. Since we obviously don't exist, I shall just stop paying any taxes and see what happens...

We live in the countryside, albeit in a fairly large village. We are not covered by 4g, let alone 5g, and many (like ourselves) rely on wifi when inside due to weak signals - all three are 'no-no's' for this 'system'. As a result, no alarm.

It was actually an April Fool's spoof, it simply took the Civil Service 23 days to action the memo.
UNISON blamed understaffing, apparently there are only 500, 000 civil servants doing the work that normally requires 1, 000 people in the private sector.

Yup it went off for me, sort of mildly apocalyptic beeping sound, and the screen shows a warning text explaining what was happening, which you had to click "ok" to continue.

My goodness it seems as though I have fallen into a group of people on here who will just accept anything the government tells them to do.
I look forward to you all obeying them and eagerly installing government cameras in your homes, so that the government can keep an eye on your safety, just in case a serial killer or thieves enters your area. Smh

I was in my local shopping centre with my father around 3pm today, I had mine turned off so got nothing, His phone went off at 14:59 and over the course of the next 10 minutes you could hear the spontaneous alerts from different phones going off all over the centre (we were in a coffee shop in the centre of the ground floor).

Got to say, for an 'Emergency alert system' for 'Warning of Risk to life or property' a ~10 minute window is pretty shocking,
an entertaining, but poor show all around I'd say.

Nothing in our household 4 people with multiple devices on various suppliers nothing at all. We had even forgotten about it. The first thing I knew was my local shopkeeper this morning asking me about it. London.

May put a poll up asking if the members of the public(in the UK) had the alarm go off. - because mines certainly didn't and the majority of close friends didn't either.

I turned mine off, My Son did receive the alarm, he told me a number of people around him got nothing. Its about what we expect from the current incompetent Government.
