*The High Mileage Ram is just about perfect now. How’s your truck treating you these days?*

Another thing I did was put an aftermarket cabin air filter in and that majorly restricted the flow. Went back to mopar and the flow is

My 2019 ram was black and even with heavy window tint I cooked in the truck. My 2021 is silver and made a huge difference. Michigan.

Very rarely does a dealership know what they’re talking about

I live in Queensland Australia.
It's hot!
I just got my new ltd back yesterday from having the sunroof professionally tinted with uv block etc.
Instant difference.
Couldn't touch the glass before. Now I can leave my hand on it.

I have a black grand cherokee with Panoramic sunroof. This helped - I installed Pinnacle Formula 1 ceramic tint (40%) on windows, and AirBlue 80% Ceramic tint on windshield.

My black 2020 1500 without sunroof hasn’t been a problem but my father in laws white 2019 1500 without the sunroof is noticeably cooler when touching the headliner. I had 50% ceramic tint on the WHOLE windshield and it’s helped a lot.

Well I agree with you my 2019 Big Horn air conditioning is crap compared to the air conditioning I had with my 2011 quad cab 4.7 ram 1500 I got this truck in November this is the first opportunity I’ve had to use the air conditioning first thing I noticed was how poor the AC was I do not have a sunroof and the truck is black

I have the exact same truck and did all my windows including the windshield with 3M Ceramic tint and it didn't really make a difference. Still hotter than Pam Anderson in the 90s.

I'm not totally sure why you would want a dark truck with the black interior in Texas. I was just driving dark trucks with black interior leather on an 85 degree day in Idaho. That's a negative Ghost Rider. We don't get quite as hot as you do down in Texas, but we do have a lot of days north of 100. I've always been a fan of cloth seats because they're just cooler. Dodge does make cooled seats which yeah is a pretty good idea for leather seats, But so far the couple trucks I've driven with it it didn't seem to be that effective. We test drove a Nissan Pathfinder a couple years ago and those cooled seats were freaking amazing.
See your sunroof doesn't have a cover to block it off and help insulate you? I haven't quite finished watching your video yet, but I'm hoping the tint that you're putting on is highly reflective, and by reflective I mean blinding low-flying pilots reflective. And if your sunroof does have the sliding cover stick some reflectix up on top of that as you close it.

But seriously, if you're really serious about staying cool in Texas, get a light white or otherwise, maybe a gray truck with a light cloth interior, and no sunroof. And put in a reflectix sunscreen in the front window when you're sitting there idling working in your truck and then let us know how that works.

The horror stories of sun roofs shattering is no myth, Problem stems from how the tint is cut to fit. If the tint is laid over the glass and a marker is used to trace the area to cut and then cut the film on a table you are ok. But when a tinter does it the same way as the door windows there comes the problem when they cut the tint while it is laying on the glass and the blade puts light cuts into the surface of the glass it is then compromised. Sun roofs are tempered even more than side windows to form bigger cubes in the event of an accident for occupant safety, and the glass is under pressure from the frame to keep the tempered glass in check.

I'm not sure what kind of 10th that was but I'm sure ceramic might work better

I am sure that it is an issue on our truck tho. I have the BigHorn with no sunroof & on 90-100 degree days it doesn't cool enough literally it doesn't feel like the truck is cooling off at all when it's that hot, I sweat sometimes it's just blowing air but not cool so yeah I open the windows to get some air flow at least wirh the back window cracked open a bit.

I don’t have the sunroof in my 2020 ram 1500 crew cab but my ac is not good in south Florida when idling for 5 minutes plus. I installed 20% ceramic tint on all the windows except the windshield I did 50% (law allows that here) and woah what a difference. The tints not too dark so it’s great at night but the ceramic tech in the tint is 10x better than regular tint and 3-5x better than high quality tints that are limo style. Yes it was very expensive ($900) but I have a lifetime warranty and I plan on keeping this truck til it dies so I’m happy. My cab is always cool now even when it has been sitting in parking lot or driveway all day in 95 degree heat my cabs only 80-85 max so with ac on it cools down really quickly and stays cool while engines on.

I have a 2019 Big Horn, no sunroof, and the cooling sucks. Took over 15 minutes one day last week to feel cool and it sucks in idle. Then I read about the TSB 24-001-20 and called the dealer. Before I went to the dealer I did some test with a temp probe in the center vents. Max AC, recirculation ON, Sync on, temp set to LO. One of the classic symptoms that your truck should be covered by it is that the driver's side vent is 5 or more degrees F warmer than the passenger side. Mine was 8 degrees different after driving for 15 mins at like 55MPH. This is where you might have to fight the dealer. Dealer said they did a leak test and that there were no leaks and the pressures were fine. I told them that the TSB mentions nothing about the leak and pointed them to the section where it talks about the customer complaints and that the big give away is the temp diff between the passenger and driver's side center vents. I had pictures to show the difference. I also brought up that it's the exact same scenario that people talked about on the forums and elsewhere online. The tech went back and then the service advisor calls me back over 15 minutes later and says "yeah, so, we need to order some parts and then you'll need to drop the truck off for at least 2 days". Mine is still under warranty so it's fully covered. You might have to plead for a goodwill repair since you are high mileage but it's an known design flaw. People have reported on the forums that it really does make a big difference. From what I see in the TSB they replace the entire heater casing.

But this doesn’t explain why these trucks blow 56-60 degrees when the competition blows 30-40 degrees.
