Henry Cavill was back as Superman but that all changed when 2 people came into power. A year later, fans are still angry and upset but what actually happened? A year ago yesterday, Henry Cavill announced to the world that he was back as Superman and official Warner Brothers and DC social media pages welcomed him back to the DCEU.

Blue Beetle is the first DCEU movie that I didn't watch in theatres and still haven't seen to this day. I wanted to keep supporting DC because I grew up a DC fan but I couldn't bring myself to keep financial supporting them.
I'll probably watch Aquaman but I can't promise anything more after that.

Happy for those who will still watch and maybe one day I'll be back.

Until then I'll probably just stick to the comics and animation.

Hollywood doesn't like Zack Snyder for some reason and they love James Gunn for no reason at all. So Henry Cavill was seen as Zack Snyder's man and that's why he was treated that way.

The best part of Black Atom was literally when Henery came in at the end. Only part that gave me goosebumps. Tom Welling is probably the only other person I can see as Superman.

I'm so sorry for The Rock. He had his heart in the right place and wanted to bring the snyderverse back. It's a shame his movie didn't have the response studios expected, even though it was a better reponse than any other subsequently DC movie. I guess it was already too late for a reaction, DCEU was already a terminal sick patient.

All James Gunn had to do was bring back Zack Snyder and let him finish his trilogy and then seek out other directors and writers that would have continued the DCEU and Gunn would have been the CEO of the year and then after some time he could have introduced his new DCU. This is Simple and would have made the studios a boatload of money. But now he has the weight of the world trying to create a Superman movie from scratch with a new actor and everything is riding on this movie’s success. Such a bad move. It’s very frustrating knowing we had a universe in place and it never got the development it deserved.

It's a year later and I still feel sick to my stomach thinking about it, like one of the worst sadnesses i've felt in a while. I know that sounds kind of lame and all but I was SO SOOO overjoyed when I saw Henry Cavill back and I rewatched the whole snyderverse and it may have its' haters but I was a hardcore fan all the way from the start! I still can't believe how bad the timing was and I don't even hate Gunn I just don't wanna stick around and see anymore DC movies 🤥

They should've given Cavill a good send off. Instead Gunn couldn't wait to announce himself as the saviour of DC with a reboot. By doing that they doomed every DCEU film after, and the DCU will suffer because of his impatience and ego for years to come. So many dumb decisions made by WBD....

Thank you very much for this video. This was professionally done and very truthful. I am one of those who loved Cavils Superman and of course Snyders movies. This was a joke and absolutely one of the most unprofessional maneuvers a Hollywood studio has ever made. It’s really amazing that a studio who is looking to change their image immediately makes a move that seems to be exactly in line with what they’ve done over the past 20 years. A time in which they have embarrassed themselves in this genera. I sincerely hope things work out but I will never forgive them for what they did to Cavil.

Its the fever, the rage, the sense of powerlessness that turns good men cruel. You're on point about the context. They didn’t have that China bump, the movie was still pretty good though. Not as good as it could've been but still, Black Adam was good.

Frustration doesn't even come close with a situation like this. Look, I really enjoy James Gunn's movies, i even own most of them, including some of the harder to find ones that were originally released only as a web-series, but this time round, I legitimately have no clue what Gunn's thinking by doing what he's doing. It's like he's your opponent in Naughts and Crosses, constantly just avoiding the clear spaces where he could win, but instead would rather troll you so you can't see a proper game being played or even get finished in a satisfying way. The fact that he's doing everything in his power to ignore the fans is just madness to me.
