Did You Know in SHERLOCK HOLMES…

The character of Professor Moriarty was originally voiced by an unknown actor since casting hadn’t been completed yet. After Jared Harris took the official role in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, they actually went back and had Harris dub over the original actor’s voice. This was done to preserve the continuity on any of the new DVD and Blu-ray copies.

Andrew Jack, dialect coach who worked on over 50 films since 1982. Not only had he worked with RDJ on _Chaplin_ and _Sherlock Holmes_, but he is the originator of all the Middle-Earth accents (including Orcish). He is famous for making English accents more intelligible to non-English listeners.

Don’t get me wrong. I love RDJ, and there were many things about those movies that were cool. But as a time fan of Sherlock Holmes, I was deeply disappointed in those movies. And when I say “long time fan”, I mean since I was in Second Grade and am now 46.
