Russia’s Vladimir Putin to make “unfriendly” countries pay for Russian gas in roubles

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia will only accept payments in roubles for its natural gas deliveries to “unfriendly” countries, which includes all EU members.

The decision came after Russia was hit with sanctions by western countries over the assault on Ukraine.

The rouble after the announcement, which plummeted after the start of the conflict, strengthened against the dollar and euro.

With the economy being as it is, it is a nightmare for US that countries are no longer using dollar for their transaction. Eventually dollar will lose its value and other currencies like euro & pound will take over which the Americans don't want to see happen. This concept, which US fear the most, costed the Libyan leader, ghadaffi his life. Putin has started the economic war against the "unfriendly".Unfriendly countries to Russia are going to suffer from their own sanctions.

Since Russia is no longer in Swift and currencies cannot be exchanged for rubles, the named countries will buy rubles with gold which will be shipped to Moscow where will be exchange for rubles. Interesting move
