The Salomon Q-98 is the best ski at that waist width to ski in powder from any manufacture. It has a softer flex so it loses some ability for the aggressive skier to lay down strong and powerful carves, but its performance in powder is unmatched by any other 96-100 wasted ski. A Full Wood Core gives you a very lively feel, that makes the Quest 98 very snappy. The Honeycomb Tip is ultra lightweight, and the Hook Free Taper gives you a highly maneuverable feeling in the deep stuff. Salomons Utility Rocker has rocker in the tip to keep you floating, and rocker in the tail to help you smear your turns. The Semi-Sandwich Construction is very light and snappy for quick tight turns in the trees. If you are looking for a ski that will spend most of its time off the trail, but is less than 100 mm under foot the Salomon Q-98 is the ski for you.
