In mid-50s a group of 20 students from our Montreal school arrived to late at Castel Gandolfo for the Sunday audience. The 'doorman' suggested that if we made a lot of noise, Pius Xll would enquire and come to see us. Indeed he did. A touching moment,

I understand that in modern times ceremonies and traditions change but tgee Old Pomp and Splendor of the church was very special to see. Also traditions like the papal crown, the papal nobility and other traditions had a lot of value and meaning by itself.

There is an omission in telling about the smoke. There was an earlier white smoke and it was broadcast but then quickly (in a few hours) retracted. It then took several days before the "correct" white smoke appeared and Roncali was announced. OK. But the first one was not a mistake, it did happen. I saw it (I was 14).

Funny seeing Pius' body being transported to Saint Peters because it literally exploded on the way due to a new embalming process that did not work. They were forced to redo him overnight. This is black and white where we see him lying there. But people said that due to the botched process which caused decomposition early, his body was actually 'emerald green.' Pope John XXIII literally banished the man who did it (who was actually Pus' doctor) from the Vatican and to this day remains the only person to be banished.
The papal installation ceremony took FIVE hours? How did a 77 year old man make it that long without having to urinate? LOL

Everything has changed now since Vatican II

A very good man of noble faith. The likes of him come very rarely. This from a Jewish admirer. Roncalli had a good soul, and the world is a better place because of him. I can't exactly say the same of his predecessor.

it's a pity that videos haven't olfactory devices: the taxidermy of pope's body wasn't correct and Pius XII started decomposing during exposition. A swiss guard fainted because of the tremendous stick of dead.

As Much as I admire Pope Francises Ecumenical approach I must say I do miss all the Old Pomp and Splendor of our church. I hope the next Pope will make use of such things during his Reighn and carry on the pastoral spirit .

AfterVatican ll, it was decided that future popes would not be crowned with the triple tiara. They wanted to soften their perception that Papal Rome did change to the numerous Christian Protestants around the free world. They were not the enemy of God and man.

Pope Pius xii was embalmed badly. Paul vi had bad embalming too

After watching this, there is no doubt ion my mind why he called Vatican II not being. I suspect he hated every moment of this.

Ja samuti ei tohiks mitte ükski Preester õigustada sõda või soosida! Me oleme Vennad ja Õed JEESUSES KRISTUSES! Loomulikult tulebki Rohkem kallist JUMALA SÕNA Kuulata kui inimese sõna! SHALOM!
