For those who want the adventure:
Google 'Hell-Diving MonkeyDM'
It should be the first link!

I know that this is mostly a D&D channel but there is a game that fits Helldivers perfectly. It’s called Drop ship

Adding this to my "Watch later" playlist for a potential One-shot to do with my friends!

The way to make a hell diver is to make a paladin subclass and make them take the oath of democracy, which makes it to wear on lethal damage. They have a 50% chance to survive and paladins. That means they only get four slots, which is perfect for the game because in the game, you only get four slots so then you make it to spell slots are on a timer and then you have a helldiver

Here is my hoard combat system: if there is more than one enemy within range, instead of making a separate attack, the second enemy adds it’s attack modifier and half of it’s damage to the first enemy’s attack.

Playing dnd that’s on a board and paper you can literally make your own outcomes whenever you want.

I feel like Bunkers & Badasses would be an ideal system for this. Not being limited to the system and having death not be permanent, fighting waves and waves of enemies, that just screams B&B.

The fnff system might be good for this. Simplify the armor a bit and it should work

Fun, but what if it ended like that one CoD campaign where you fight until you die, and the next heroes plotline is about fighting the people who sent the previous adventurers to die

I'll give this a look, as I have been working on something similar.

So far the setting I have made up involves a dystopian future where everything run in human space is controlled by a corporate coalition made up by 10 different companies.
(Each heavily inspired by the 10 Guilds on Ravnica)

The party serves these companies by acting as a ERT (Emergency Response Team) to various situations and each member has a secret sub objective based on their corporate backer that they must fulfill.

All Full Caster classes have been removed, lots of guns are added, and spellcasting has been reflavored as Fabricate (Nanotech).

Combat has also been reworked into a Action and Stress point system. The more stress you have, the less effective you are.
