09:11 beside few scenes Chobits doesn't have that much fanservice.
This is a bit a thing of CLAMP. Most of story is usually slow paced and innocent, but they always put something from themselves.
Even in Cardcaptor Sakura we learned that Sakura Father married underage girl, who was his student.

I recently finished watching Horimiya, and while there’s some mature themes, it’s definitely one of the most wholesome and realistic romances I’ve seen.

A romance anime I recommend that’s wholesome as f**k is Tonikawa, just seeing Nasa and Tsubasa act like a couple who’s been together for years when they literally met one day is just hilarious, and adorable at the same time.

Thank you very much.

My tastes tend to gravitate towards dark and moody pieces. So I don't tend to find the wholesome stuff on my own if it's not a really trending thing like "how heavy are the dumbbells you lift".
So videos like this really, really help me.

It’s nice to see Shikimori’s not just a cutie get love, this anime tends to get unnecessary hate mainly because of Izumi. People tend to say he needs to man up when they don’t understand the point of his character; he’s a bit fragile and more emotional than most anime Mc which is nice to see. When Shikimori and Izumi share screen time together it just melts my heart, honestly if SPYXFAMILY wasn’t airing during spring Shikimori’s not just a cutie would’ve been my favorite anime of the season.

Why does Dai-chan talk almost exactly the same as OtakuDaiKun. It's like she's doing a DaiKun impression and it's spot on. I love it.

Emiya Gohan is indeed my absolutely favorite wholesome series.

I think Aria the Animation should be on the list for sure.
Along with Barakamon.

I won’t spoil what it is, but I’m pretty sure everyone’s reaction to the final pick will be “Of freaking course!” and “why did I not see this coming?”

Also, I feel that K-ON! And Akebi’s Sailor Uniform should have gotten an honourable mention.

Otherwise, great video and great list. It’s added some new shows and movies to my watchlist.

Flying witch is one of the most relaxing animes I've ever seen. As a slice of life is not particulary memorable, but is confy as F. I'd highly recommend it

Okay, here is my list of wholesome recommendations. You actually mentioned Usagi Drops, but in order to get people to watch it I tell them the manga is forbidden and think ONLY of the anime as canon. (No offense to the mangaka, but the first part of the story was peak). Anyway, first up is Aria the Animation and its sequels. Its made by the same author as Amanchu. The anime is extremely slow, but places emphasis on the little things that people take for granted. It was an honest pleasure watching the main cast grow up (and the OST is god-tier). Next up, Flying Witch. If you liked Kiki's Delivery Service, I believe its safe to say you'll like this as well because it also follows a witch in training to become full fledged. Next, Hakumei and Mikochi. Just a cute story about little people living little lives. Very cute. Next, a longer series named Space Brothers. Its about a brother who follows his younger brother's footsteps to become an astronaut (was pleasantly surprised at how relatable this was, especially for those that aren't satisfied with their place in life). Next, Kemono Friends (first season). The animation is....well pretty bad, but there is a certain allure to the series and you can definitely tell this was a passion project and the passion was definitely felt. You learn a lot of animal facts too. (Note: While the second season is watchable, it CLEARLY lacked the passion of the first due to some staffing changes.) Lastly, Josee, the Tiger, and the Fish. A very mature movie that legit had me tearing up at certain points on the movie (im not typically the type to cry at things so this was a very pleasant experience). Its about a dude that is saving up so he can enter a program to go to Mexico for diving. He takes a part time job as a caretaker for a wheel-chair bound girl. Their relationship was really wholesome (especially near the end).

Personally I feel like there's a lot of untapped potential for wholesome slice-of-life anime that focus on specific hobbies, if Amanchu and Yuru Camp are any proof of that. A majority of the ones I've seen typically focus on roughly the same categories (sports and either video games or traditional games). Branching out from that into some really niche hobbies would be risky, sure, but I feel like the payoff could be huge if handled right!

In terms of general wholesome anime recs, though, my favorite wholesome manga recently got a solid Netflix anime adaptation! Gokushufudo is about a man who quits the Yakuza to be a house-husband for his businesswoman wife. It not only focuses on how he goes about his daily tasks, but the ways he gets involved with his neighborhood's community and the genuinely loving relationship he has with his wife! And naturally, due to him being ex-Yakuza, hijinks tend to ensue.

Discotek Media just announced they are brining Sherlock Hound to BluRay. This was an absolute favorite anime of mine as I grew up.
