Been playing PSO2 on the JP server for the last 8 years. When the livestream revealed the "NOT EPISODE 7" teaser, didn't expect this. I am pretty excited to see how this goes.

Highly recommend for anyone who loves Monster Hunter style combat. The original PSO2 has a dozen types of melee weapons, several ranged weapons, and a few weapons for "magic" which you can swap back and forth in-combat for synergies of your choice, given that you choose a main class and a sub class that support them.
NGS's character face looks horrendous compared to the original though, and we don't know yet whether its notorious gacha-based economy and freemium model will also be there (but you can still get to endgame and have optimal gears without premium.)

I've tried to get into PSO2 several times but just couldn't get past the confusing quest/tutorial/beginning. This sounds like a great first step for me.

I played PSO2 on the Japanese servers and it was really nice. Didn't have any intention on restarting now that it was officially here because I don't think it's still playable, maybe this one will be a good surprise :D

I've been playing PSO2 on the JP servers for a while, but have grown extremely tired with it and some of the qualities haven't aged well. Having a brand new, modern title to start over at Level 1, hopefully without any of the annoying baggage and power creep of the base game, while still playing as the characters I've invested hundreds of hours in? Colour me excited!

I had thousand of hours too.
I thought that the trailer was Phantasy Star Online 3.
But, it wasn't.
But I'm happy that I can play this New Genesis.

when they showed the trailer for this game at the xbox game show i first thought it was going to be a remaster of PSO1. was a little dissapointed that it wasnt but im still excited for this

Loved phantasy star online on game cube. I haven't tried pso2 but I'm willing to be happily surprised with new genesis.
