Rey Mysterio made his debut in July 2002 against Chavo Guerrero. At the end, Rey hit Chavo with a six one nine and caught him to pin him and win the match. Test ran into Rey backstage, attacked him and told him “go back to kindergarten, kid”. Later that night, Edge faced Chris Jericho in a steel cage. Edge won the match and the Anti-Americans attacked him and brought him inside the ring. John Cena came out for the help, then Rey appeared and jumped off the cage, countered Test and they hit him with dropkicks and everyone ran away. Next week, Rey faced Tajiri. At the end, Rey caught Tajiri to pin him and win the match. A week later, Kurt Angle faced Cena. During the match, Chris Benoit attacked Cena and caught him in the cross face, Rey came out and threw Benoit out, Eddie Guerrero came out to attack Rey. Edge came out to save Rey and hit Angle with a spear. Then all of them met in a tag match. Edge hit Angle with a spear, Benoit caught Edge with a german suplex, Rey hit Benoit with a bulldog, Eddie hit Rey with a brainbuster, then Cena caught Eddie. Angle hit Cena with the angle slam, started to taunt him and got hit with a six one nine, then Rey hit him with the west coast pop to pin him and win the match.

Rey Mysterio has always had the coolest in-ring gear, from the jump. Outside the ring, it’s definitely got to be the whole evolution line up. Those guys had style and Rey comes second.

Is that he could take an AMAZING bump.

Seriously, when a move needed to look like it hurt, or threw he about, he did great at selling it.

Exaggerated but not cartoonishly fake, honestly my favourite thing about him, one of the best heels.
