Ricky Reyna, 31, is a student at Colorado State University where he's earning his PhD in System Engineering. Reyna came to the United states when he was 15 years old from Piedras Negras, Mexico. Juan Belmàn, 28, came to the United States from Mexico when he was 10 years old after not seeing his father for over a year. His mother decided to join her husband in the United States when she realized her youngest son, Belmàn's brother, no longer recognized his father. Belmàn grew up in Austin and went to school at Travis High School and then to the University of Texas and majored in cultural anthropology. There are more than 600,000 active DACA recipients living in the United States according to 2020 data from the Migration Policy Institute Data Hub. Those recipients are still in limbo waiting for a Texas judge to decide the legality and fate of the DACA program.
