This video explains the anatomy and osteology of the lateral cuneiform. A left bone is used.

1) Medial Surface -- articular facet along the posterior aspect. Two small facets at the anterior border separated by a rough area (note: these two facets may be absent)
2) Lateral Surface -- oval articular facet at the posterosuperior aspect. Small facet at the anterosuperior aspect (note: this facet may be absent)
3) Anterior Surface -- triangular shape (apex inferior)
4) Posterior Surface -- oval/triangular shape facet with a small rough area inferior to it
5) Primary Center of Ossification -- six months of age
