In this episode, Samantha and Taylor talk about violence against women, sexual harrassment, domestic abuse, and other topics relevant to sexual misconduct. What is sexual harassment? The definition by the Equality Act of 2010 says, “unwanted conduct of a sexual nature which has the purpose or effect of violating someone’s dignity, or creating an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment for them.” Taylor and Sam both explore what sexual harassment is, what it is not, and how to end sexual harassment. Sam shares statistics that are both shocking and disappointing. Taylor shares a story of when he learned about the frequency of sexual harassment.

The music at the end was distracting to her afterthoughts but overall I applaud this episode so much. I left the Mormon faith bc I was sexually assaulted by a member and I wish this type of mentality was around 20 years ago. Thank god this is available now for the next generation to draw strength and courage to step forward against their abusers.

The number of people taking offense at this video condemning sexual harassment is embarrassing for the Church of Jesus Christ.

Can't help but think of the recent-ish Johnny Depp/Amber Heard situation while listening to this - especially in light of new evidence that shows Depp was actually the victim, and Heard assumed everyone would side with her since she is a woman. 🤔 I agree we should take sexual allegations seriously, but I don't necessarily ascribe to the "believe all women" camp. I prefer to follow the mantra of "innocent until proven guilty." Men can be victims as much as women, and often assault on men goes more unnoticed or is more easily ignored.

When I was in that situation I actually had a police officer tell me "you lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas. Fortunately, his partner arrested the perpetrator.

Men can either turn into protectors, or predators. Good job empowering men and women with information, so we can work together to prevent evil actions

Honestly what are ppl's thought processes? Even fart and poop jokes are more appropriate than sexually suggestive "jokes", especially at work.

Could we go deeper than the men vs women thing? What percent of men are abusive?
Maybe add an adjective? Maybe say "abusive men", or "men who do not respect boundaries", or "aggressive men"? Saying simply "men" promotes a gender based (us vs them) atmosphere.
Isn't the deeper issue narcissistic attributes, and power differentials? I've found it fascinating to learn about narcissism and psycopathy. Whether men or women - common narcissistic traits are charm, grandiosity, air of certainty, etc. These things are admired in this world, but they also often mean power over others - which human beings cannot be trusted with.
The victims I feel for most are the ones drawn into a marriage (or similar bond) by a narcissistic personality. The whole world thinks the narcissistic personality is wonderful, but the one they have power over falls further and further into powerlessness. I recommend learning about narcissism, so people have a better chance of escaping the worst scenarios before it's too late.
In the end, Jesus had the best and shortest sermon: Love others as self. That's the best place I've found to focus.
And I want to say overall I really appreciate this video. I'm glad you made it.

That poor girl and what she had to go through. You think after multiple aligations they be suspicious. But nope he has them wrapped around there fingers. I would not be surprised if the women who defended him ended up his next victim, karma can be a b word.

....And Bishops should NOT be involved in marital problems!!! Whoever started that awful thing that your bishop should be involved in your marriage, has a warm spot in H.E.L.L. That's not the Gospel. And any woman being abused should go to the authorities. When He or she puts hands on you, ALL covenants automatically break. No turning back!!!

12:45 ok, but can we all agree that false rape allegations should be as severe if not a more harsh sentencing then actual sexual misconduct?

I don't agree with highlighting "effect" in the language of the act. Intent DOES matter, and a society highlighting the unintended effects of actions is creating a society of subjective and opinion-based reactions. If a clear compliment can be misconstrued as harassment, the effects of that reaction should not be the judge of the one expressing the compliment. I LOVE this channel, but talking about training men to think how you want them to think... this is not OK. The fact that there were no scripture passages or conference quotes - but only mention of a piece of political legislation - should have tipped you off.

So lets talk about the reasons men harass women. We throw these messages out there but you know those men aren't even watching the message.
Why do men abuse women?
One of the question i always have is why are men so hateful towards women, didn't their mothers teach them right?? Every woman seem to have been through this trauma but what have they taught their sons??? Nothing? Because you expect the men your husband to do it? Would love if we as LDS could teach about this at church. Teach the boys to respect and give them the reasons why. I've heard boys at church talking down to girls and I wondered where's the mom and dad in this young man's life. The parents think he's an angel at home so it must be the same out of their sight. Wrong!
Something im totally against is members hiding from today's problems by not letting their kids watch TV, the news, not letting them know racism, sexism, and then you send them into the world not understanding anything but just "the gospel is togetherness" and then they turn into Trump supporters. Ok, I'm off the topic.
It's hard being a woman but both parents have to speak about this to children. Why is this still going on. Why aren't the mothers that experience this change their own boys???? Oh, why not the men because most men are sexist and all men just think about you know what.
I feel both men and women need to stop this it's not just the men.

An incredibly broad definition, and you reinforce that vagueness by saying more or less "It's not up for you to question". Meanwhile a glance from someone someone else considers unattractive can fit that definition. Oversensitivity itself creates a toxic and hostile environment that is oppressive and damaging. Such as claiming you're "Unsafe" because of someone in a crowd making an off-color joke. You contribute to an oppressive nannystate. "Teach Men not to rape" is retarded, teach women to be careful. "Don't rape" is pedantic and obvious, and offloading any personal responsibility for your safety onto "Society should be better! Reality sucks!". Preparedness and personal responsibility is a core tenant of our faith.
You also present it as though it's a problem with the church, when you have a grievance with society, and the church is the least probable place to experience that problem.

Am I the only one more insulted by Taylor's sycophant responses? The level of progressive rhetoric being disseminated from this channel is an utter embarrasment.
