I was at a family Thanksgiving dinner several years ago and after eating we were sitting as a large group talking. With seeming pride, my nephew started declaring his atheism to the group, I guess as a "shock jock" way to garner everyone's attention. What he didn't realize is that three of the people present in the room were former heroin- and crack-addicted, homeless people that through a church outreach program I was able to assist through recovery, get off the street, and get employed. One at a time, they each told him their homelessness story and stated that the love of Christ, the entity he didn't believe in, had saved them working through me. One commented, "Even you will become a believer in Jesus when he is all you have left." You could have heard a feather drop afterward. Love your videos...grace and peace.

using the bible to prove god is like using harry potter to prove the existence of magic

Three things Christians should search out in history and in their theology: 1) Why don't you 'remember' the 4th commandment? Even if you wrongly think it's Sunday, you don't spend a DAY with the Father, resting and not involving others in work. 2) Why do you think holidays clearly patterned and borrowed from paganism are okay while tossing the feast days that the Almighty ordained to ALL the people (Exodus 12:49, Leviticus 24:22, "neither Jew nor Greek")? 3) How did a magic wand almost 20 YEARS after the resurrection fix toxic waste disposal units (unclean animals) to be "food" when Peter himself explained his own vision twice?

And for the 89 percent of you who will binge-watch Netflix or have read every sentence of Harry Potter, but have not read your Scriptures clean through:
1. Why do you think the animals went into the ark two by two? (Gen 7:2)
2. Why do you think there were three magi when the number wasn't given? And that they were in the manger--when clearly they visited "the child" in the "house"? (Matthew 2)
3. Why do you think there are three nights and three days between Friday afternoon and Sunday morning? (Matthew 12; even if I give you partial days, we still only have 2 periods of darkness Friday night and Saturday night.)

But it's Paul's and everyone else's 'IF'! how can an if be something to build a strong belief in,
or blame people who can't believe.

God fulfills all of his promises, say the scribes. There is very important promise to forgive all sins of all sinning believers. One condition: You must believe in god and that god keeps his promises.
This means that by now trillions of people have begged god to forgive them their sins. But why hasn't clergy produced proof of even just one of god's forgiveness of sins?
For, if they could prove that god forgives sins of all those who ask him for forgiveness, few would not, if one, not accept god.
Alas, not one case of forgiveness of sins has been proven.

Well Braxton.... If JC existed AND if he rose from the dead.... Well i will GRANT you BOTH of those claims.

How does that Correlate to the

I grant you Jesus BenJoseph and the ressurection.

What is the link to the writings of Paul? The link to the Torah where Jews dont agree that EVEN IF JC existed, he did NOT fulfil the jewish promises for a messiah?

Ok let’s look at this:

1. "God exists!"
"Can you prove that?"
"No"
"Then I don't believe you" <- This is atheism. This doesn't require faith. This is not a religion.

2. "Jesus was resurrected!"
"Can you prove that?"
"No"
"Then I don't believe you"

Having read 1&2 please don’t pretend that it’s not unreasonable to believe in god.

As for the problem of evil, this is most easily explained by studying the natural world we find ourselves living in so if you can’t prove 1&2 don’t bother with 3.

I think that "sense of community" is a good point. It seems like a lot of the atheists I encounter are arguing the way they do because it creates a sort of in-group for them. For them to give even an inch to the Christians who disagree with them would put them at risk of being pushed out of the group. It's that nomansland between the groups that is hard to cross.

my post about god not needing nor approving defence of him, either was not sent or it was deleted.
