I want one - Early 90s Squire Hank Marvin Stratocaster

Correction: It's not quite Fiesta Red. Let's call it "Fiesta-ish Red". It's close, but a bit too Orange...either way, the sound is there IMO. 

This guitar came to me needing some repairs etc and I enjoyed playing it so much I wanted to make this video. I recorded it directly into Logic and used Bias FX for the amp simulation.

I have a 1991 hank marvin squire the first time i played it at a gig people kept asking me what pick ups i have in it because the sound was so lovley , i said just stock ones came with guitar

Being a Hank Marvin fan I bought this from my local music shop in 1992 and I just love it, Since then I've been offered three times what I paid for it but would not sell it for the world.
I am sure they were made in Japan and the quality of the build shows.

Cheers. I have one of these with a D neck as per the original. Yup great sound. It was purchased in Farnborough UK and ended with one of the Frank Zappa musicians who did not play it but sold it to me. Very nice guitar. Before he sold it to me he had had the pickups swapped out with custom pickups made in Seattle. Luckily I was able to get the originals. While in Toronto Bruce was there and let myself and another person play on the original one that supposedly had Apache recorded on. Insured for 2.5 mil pounds, if I recall correctly.

I bought the same guitar new in 1992. And since then I've never been tempted to buy a Fender because it sounds so great.

Lovely tune! I have almost the exact same Squier Stratocaster from the early 1980s - Fiesta Red (almost salmon pink), maple neck and Fender USA pickups - the only difference is the incorrect larger Fender Stratocaster decal appropriate for the 1970s series. I have removed the incorrect decal and replaced it with the 1950s style decal. As good or even better than any equivalent USA 1950s Strat I have played!

My first guitar got it back in 1992 I think, I still use it today, its a really nice guitar and they don't make squires in Japan anymore either

The reason for the 'off' colour of the body is that so many people have said the original HBM Strat was 'pink' which it really wasn't. Women tend to wrongly call a magenta-cool red colour 'pink'. 'Pink' is red with white added.

I brought this guitar new when I was 15 in the early 90s still have it, but with a replacement neck from another squire as my stupid teenage self threw the neck away when I broke it. Good guitar, but no, no no way is it a +600 guitar as it goes for.

There are always exceptions to the rule, and the Squier guitar may be very good. But let's not forget the MIJ Marvin model, in Fiesta Red and having an Ash rather than Basswoid, body. Your happiness could go up a notch 🙃

Lovely tune and tasteful playing, just lacking the vibrato Hank placed on every note with the tremolo arm! this was a major aspect of his playing!!
