Chanel is so tired. People should look into smaller, luxury leather studios and get things handmade for them. If I'm going to spend $10k on a bag, it's not going to be mass-produced, influencer closet stuffers.

I always used to have a chanel bag (any chanel bag - this was back when I cared more about labels than true style!) on my wishlist but I took it off about a year ago because the prices are just nonsense, even for secondhand bags. According to Tanner Leatherstein, the leather Chanel uses for their wallets is not even very good quality, and I can't see them using anything better for their bags because they don't need to - people will pay it either way.

I always dreamt of one day going in to Chanel and buy my first bag. But I will never spend that money on a Chanel bag. It is not worth it. The bag is still the same bag, it’s still a bag.
I do not judge people who will continue to buy it, but I do question the brand. If that’s the price increase now, where is it gonna be in 5 years?
That money is better spent on something else, in my personal opinion.

The bag is still gonna sell but it's no longer a reasonable aspirational bag for those with lower income or those who like to save and for higher income/more old money types- the bag is at a ludicrous price for the qualify and the style

I'm happy this was mentioned. I would not buy the bag. At that price of over 10 k, you may as well spend a little more and wait and get hermes. I also always feel there are too many fakes that I see daily on women and even if they are not fake, I assume they are. Finally, the bag looks very old (as in a bag that a grandmother would wear) now and the logo is much too in your face and not in a cute Y2K way. I never thought I would say flaps are outdated ten years ago, but I feel it now.
