Diplomatic Power is one of the least documented systems in the game. Sure, know how much you have, and what you can do it with. How you get it is a bit more esoteric. Today ASpec is going to explain to you the ins and outs of the system, how it works and what you should focus on to get more Diplo-power.

Me: I should go and finish off that Stellaris campaign, build those Dyson Shperes, crush the Endgame and get off YouTube
Aspec: No, not yet.... you need to learn how to become The Senate
Me: *clicks*

I bought Stellaris when it first came out. Haven't played it in years. Loads of DLC later, it's an entirely different game. Thanks for your videos or I would have to sit through hours upon hours trying to figure this stuff out. 👍

Was about to give a 3/10 duo to lack of _I AM THE SENATE_ jokes until I heard the end.

10/10, I got what I was coming for and learned about Diplomatic Weight as well ☺

So, Palpatine was just a really intriguing Stellaris player. I have to admit this is an intereseting prespective on the prequels...

I wish the way the council enforced their laws was more dynamic. For example you purge but the law has banned it then an event should start calling you in deliberations and then you could even come on top of the event or fail it and maybe even have a coalition declare wart on you to force you to stop

Sanctions in this game are like:
You can't keep up with the galactic standards?
We will make sure you never will.

Diplomatic power works like regular power but most appliances need an adaptor because the outlets are for those weird oversized plugs.

I remember the time I really really wanted a specific resolution to pass so I bought and resold all the stock on the Galactic market to artificially inflate my Economic Power. That's amazingly realistic politics right there. :P

Actually if you want to increase your Diplomatic Power relative to other empires through Resolutions, DON'T vote for everything boosting Diplomatic Power.
Go for +DP on the Categories where you are superior (and are sure to stay surperior) and for -DP on the categories you are inferior in.

I really enjoy math in stellaris, don't be afraid to put equations on the screen, it's more confusing to try figure out what are you talking about without proper visuals (like the economy part, you could do a spreadsheet with coefficients for every resource or something)

Also seamless ad transition lol

Quick question:
If pop weight is (happiness*2)*pop, that would mean each pop can contribute 0-2 pop weight in total (happines 0-100%). But in your example you have 308 pop weight from 138 pop (223% increase) with seemingly average happines +-65% (capitals often have more than other planets mainly in midgame).

How is the 308 achieved, please?

What about pops that don't have happiness? Do they act as if they have 50% happiness? Are they ignored for non-gestalt empires? I must have answers
